EC XVIII: Week 2
@ ClanBase EuroCup XVIII channel

Week 2 has started, and here are all the matches to come as well as a constantly updated version of the group standings.

This week looks to be a reasonable week, with games such as CC vs Logitech, and Reason vs Serious in store for you. This week is also going to be played on the map mp_crossfire, a map based around an L shaped street, with lots of opportunity for grenades and snipers to cause havoc on. Who has prepared their A rush tactics well? Who hasn't found the right spot on the wall in B to wall bang to cover the bomb? You will find all the answers from the scores below.

Group A - Matches

Group A - Table
Clan Details P W L D DIFF POINTS
CrackClan 2 1 0 1 +7 4
Team-Logitech 2 1 0 1 +5 4
Sypher 1 1 0 0 +3 3
Reason-Gaming 1 0 1 0 -7 0
zeroHero 2 0 2 0 -8 0
Serious-Gaming - - - - - -

CrackClan and Team Logitech had a very good game tonight, with the scores ending up at 12 all. It was, according to the ClanBase admin who watched the game, a great game to watch, and he will get demos up as soon as possible. We will try put those up when we can too.

Group B - Matches

Group B - Tables
Clan Details P W L D DIFF POINTS
KomaCrew 2 1 0 1 +9 4
We Were Immortal 2 1 1 0 +5 3
oXmoze 1 1 1 0 0 3
Button-Bashers 2 1 1 0 -4 3
UF Gaming 2 1 1 0 -6 3
Copenhagen-eSports 2 0 1 1 -4 1

This week has thrown out a great game, with Koma Crew drawing with the Danes, Copenhagen.eSports. In what was a very close game, neither team could win the game, leaving the group in a very interesting position with a lot of teams on similar points. oXmoze should beat UF Gaming (being played Mon 13th) and take the top place in the group. Necroraisers, or now We Were Immortal, were easily able to see off Button-Bashers too.

oXmoze were not able to see of the Polish UF Gaming, and have left the group in a very interesting position after 2 matches each. 5 of the 6 teams are all still in with a good chance of qualifying through the group, and no one looks definitely to either. The next week is going to be a big match week for Group B

Group C - Matches

Group C - Tables
Clan Details P W L D DIFF POINTS
nEph 2 2 0 0 +11 6
Speed-Link 2 2 0 0 +10 6
lastshow 1 1 0 0 +4 3
MEGAZORDS 1 0 1 0 -1 0
B'Buddies 2 0 2 0 -10 0
Wizard 2 0 2 0 -14 0

Megazords, aka Dignitas mix seem to have had a bad start to the EC. They have not played their first game, and they have no-showed their second game against Speed-Link. This may be due to the fact they had a big EPS UK game on the same night (brilliant scheduling!) which frankly was worth a lot more to them, (£100 it turns out). Could we see Megazords go out of the tournament without actually playing a game? Or will they actually start playing it, in which case I think the rest of Group C better watch out! nEophytes have postponed their game to this Tuesday, and the result is now in, with nEophytes taking a 1-0 win after B'Buddies no showed.

Group D - Matches

Group D - Tables
Clan Details P W L D DIFF POINTS
eSuba 2 1 0 1 +4 4
xthothed 2 1 0 1 +3 4
D-Link PGS 2 1 1 0 +3 3
Viciouos and Evil 2 1 1 0 +3 3
Team Impact 2 1 1 0 -1 3
Team Infused 2 0 2 0 -12 0

Again Team Infused, the big name of the summer LANs as they caused lots of upsets, have suffered another loss. To quote Vanner: "We're very, very confident of qualifying for the knockout stages though and shouldn't have too many big problems with the remaining games." This is starting to look even more ominous now as they are bottom of the group. Lets wait and see how they do in Week 3. The final Week 2 match of Group D has been played, with PGS beating Impact relatively comfortably. This makes it very even going into Week 3, but it also means that Infused do have a chance of pulling this back.
