Write threadHDMI-DVI Cable resolution problem

I recently bought HDMI-DVI cable for my BenQ HD2200 monitor. I got it working on desktop perfectly on 1080p @ 60hz. The problem is that when I try to play CSS on 1280x720 @ 75hz resolution I get black borders and refresh rate is 60hz. Is there any way to use 1280x720 @ 75hz resolution on games while having desktop set to 1080p? My gfx card is Ati Radeon HD 4800.
