Write threadGraphics Card upgrade

looking to upgrade my graphics card, had this one for a while - ATI HD4870 512mb (its loud, big and gets pretty hot too).
Ideally I don't want to spend a lot of money (< £100/150?), as I don't really play games (except source which is mainly CPU anyway), but I use a few applications which require gpu processing for opengl, so looking for maybe a 1gb onboard memory, so it doesn't have to be sick.
I used to follow new hardware, but not so much lately... any suggestions/advice?
