Write threadGoogle to trump VirginMedia's broadband?

I came across this article today that was posted literally a few days ago, its basically an article from IGN on google to venture into the broadband market and how they reckon they could provide a 1000mb/s upload and download speed.

Its still in trial currently in the Kansas City in american and its likely going to be a few years before we see it here, but thoughts on this?
