Why have Molotovs been banned from competitive play already?
@ Counter-Strike: Global Offensive forum

So it was brought to my attention last night that Molotovs are banned from Dreamhack and will likely be banned everywhere else during competitive play and I would like to understand why, other than the fact that CS players hate change.

They add a great new dynamic to the game and i've yet to see anything negative about them while in-game. I mean they can be more useful than a flash half the time now that they hardly hit you unless they explode a foot in front of the user.

The only example i've been given is they could stop a Banana rush easily if you had one primed when Ts started to throw flashes over on to site, but tbfh thats nothing that a well placed counter-flash would do.

Richard or someone and Cadred could you please start the conversation rolling public on there use and why there being banned? I don't see decoys being banned, but I guess we won't until someone does something crazy-amazing with them.

Don't fight change kids, embrace it and become a bloody better player.
