MOBA vs. ARTS

General section as this includes all games that fall under the genre(s). For the sake of this discussion, let's consider DotA to be ARTS (as Gabe Newell has described the game himself).

So what's the real difference? I've gone in and out of numerous forums and dozens of threads -- what's the REAL meat to this rivalry? Anyone care to explain to me why it's such a debated topic and what sets the two genres apart?

As usual, no shit-flinging towards others unless necessary.
