ESEA Europe
@ General forum

Hello fellow nerds!

I'm sure you've heard of it but ESEA has launched european servers. For now their locations include Stockholm and Frankfurt with british servers coming soon too.

Some of you might know ESEA as an american league only but now they're expanding their services across the big pond. I've been playing PUGs on ESEA since 2009 and eventhough I've had to play with high ping for a long time, I really enjoyed it.
After you made an account on ESEA, you have to set your STEAM ID in your profile. (For CS:GO you have to put the 1 instead of the 0 in front.) Right now, ESEA provides servers for different games such as TF2, CS 1.6, CS:S and ofcourse, CS:GO. They have they're own anticheat- the ESEA client- which you can download here:

http://play.esea.net/index.php?s=downloads&d=view&id=1?r=394167

Install it, open it, set up your STEAM ID under options, set your prefered game and location and join the server. You'll see those instantly, you'll also see who and how many players are in that server. (For now there's only PUG servers available but there will be war servers for teams and their practice for example, too.)
If you're the first one to join a server, you'll see a message pop, asking if you want to play an unranked or ranked pug. Ranked means you'll get stats, unranked means obviously the opposite. :P
After that you type ".ready" into the chat. If don't ready up in 2 minutes, the client will disconnect you and you will banned for ~5 mins from ONLY that server. (This is to make sure noone is AFK or delaying a pug on purpose forever.)
After you have 10 people ready'd up, the server will lo3 by itself and the pug starts. HFGL!

In ranked pugs, you'll usually see a window pop up after the pug (give it a couple seconds) with your stats.
Teams will be sorted based on skill (your stats) and who you have buddied. This way, they are trying to prefend stacked teams. IMO it's working pretty good but remember you won't ALWAYS be on the same team with your buddy. And who likes to play stacked pugs anyway- there's no competition in them.
Back to the stats:
ESEA has it's own system. The main stat is RWS (Round-Win-Share) but there's also things like Headshot percentage (HSP), 1v2's, 4k's, Aces, frags per round (FPR) and average dmg per round (ADR). (Based on these stats, teams will be sorted in pugs as I mentioned earlier. These will reset each month, so every month you start fresh. (When there will be war servers, those stats will be available too. Same with future league stats. All seperate though.) The punishment for RQ's is a shorttime ban and the lose of karma. More about this, you can find here:

If you don't like playing with someone you can easily block him/her. Through the website and the client itself.

On the client, under voice, you'll find public mumbles which are free to use, too. Or you can put in ur own mumbles info and join through the client on your mumble. If you're in a voiceserver but your buddy who's also in voice ends up on the other team you will get a blackscreen after one of you dies. If you're running skype in the background, you'll also get blackscreen'd. Same goes for Ventrilo and some Teamspeaks. (Not all TS versions get F2B yet, but I'm certain they will be soon enough!)
All this is to prefend people from ghosting and to keep things as fair as possible.
I do realize many of you might already know how ESEA works, but I'm explaining all this just in case someone doesn't know. ;)

I realize you might not want to pay for a thing like ESEA, since there's CSSMixes and ESL Vs's and gathers. But believe me, I haven't had half as many bad experiences on ESEA like I had with ESL's Wire and Mixes' services. Wire takes ages to up- and download, personally I'm not too fond of Libra's screenshots during plays either and well, we all know what to think of CSSMixes when it comes to cheaters.
Right now there's not so many euro people who have premium but I know this can get huge over here too if enough people actually realize how much more ESEA offers for the money you pay.
There's challenges, monthly winnings, free team mumbles if you're signed up for league (when it comes out over here so far its only pug servers) and much more.
If you go here:

and post in the comments along with your ESEA profile link you will get a free trial week.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me :)
