Sound/Headphone Settings

The sound in my headphones doesn't sound right recently and its not got the surround sound it used to when i used to be able to hear where people were spot on. I've got the sennheiser PC161 just wondering whats settings people use in source, i've got vista also. They're currently setup as 7.1 surround sound which ino isn't right.

Also have the realtek sound management thing and hve it setup as 7.1 in there, just need to know what other people have it set as so i can get my sound working right again.
