o2 broadband / phone

basically im on o2 and i keep timing out / internet keeps restarting etc but what ive noticed is my actual bt line has a crackling sound on it when i pick the housephone up, tried a new housephone but the crackle is there im just wondering now is this causing my internet to die and anyone know of any reasons as to why it might do this and how to fix it / who to speak to

also when i had bt line put in the guy just ran it through my old telewest output
