Is wow any good?

After playing the game at a friends months aog, i purchased said game, it seemed OK, but very grindy and "shitty" until you get to high level raiding / PVP / arena (haven't tried) i messed around on 2 of his chars (warlock and rogue) and it was alright but never got to his level (See below)

saying that with WoTLK out, should i get it, has it improved, i've never stuck it out to 70 i've got 40 at best really... and if i do get it will someone help me, as it's always better with a friend ;) or so i've heard =) ?

so having not touched the game for months, would it be worth starting again on a new server with cool people and sticking it to 80 if i could get some help? i don't really know that many active wow players (if they do they do it in sekrets :O ) so yeah :) ?
