Format?

Basically, my PC is in absolutely desperate need of a re-format, it has been for a while but i've been putting it off due to having a lot of work to do at the moment and just the general time and effort it's going to take to back everything up.

However lately my reg on CS:S just seems to have become totally non existant. I'm shooting people countless times, leaving them covered in blood stains and console is telling me i haven't done one bit of damage. This is happening on various servers, not just the occaisonal ones.

Would a re-format cure this or is it just due to a sketchy internet connection (it's not great...)... or just aim letting me down.

Help appreciated!
