Description

The complete final match of the CPL World Tour 2005 $1,000,000 Painkiller tournament, held at the Nokia Theater in New York City. This year ... all » long gaming competition spanned the globe, with 9 previous stops in Turkey, Spain, Brazil, Sweden, USA, UK, Singapore, Italy and Chile. Each stop boasted an impressive $15,000 prize for first place. The stakes were raised tenfold at the the tour finals, however, with a $150,000 prize on the line.

On the 22nd of November only two competitors remained, and as to be expected those two players were Jonathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel and Sander “Vo0” Kaasjager of team fnatic. Their professional rivalry throughout the year only served to make things much more interesting for the spectators, especially with their more recent results being back and forth. Only the previous day Vo0 had defeated Fatal1ty in the upper bracket final, meaning that Fatal1ty now has the hard task of winning two sets to become champion. Being in the upper bracket, Vo0 needs only one set. Each set is played as a best of three maps.

From the entire world tour, Vo0 took away $232,000 in prize money, and Fatal1ty took $231,000.
