eSports Yearbook E-Book Released
@ Scene news channel

During the Gadget Show Live myself and Richard Lewis got speaking to one of the ESL admins, in a conversation it was brought to our attention that she was one of the editors of the first ever eSports yearbook.

We announced at the event that the yearbook had been released featuring a series of articles from various top players, pundits and event organisers. A paperback version of the book is available to purchase from Amazon at the moment fr just €15,90 in Germany and will soon be available in the UK too. However if you would like to read the book without spending that kind of money an e-Book has been released and is now available for download Here. Since its release The eSports yearbook has had more than 30,000 downloads and more than 100 have been bought via Amazon. It is also worth noting that the book will soon be made available in Russian, with the entire book being translated as I type this.

The book has taken a lot of time to be put together and without much publicity it has been difficult for the editors, if it does well enough then there will be another released in January next year. The editors are asking for anyone who has some experience in eSports and would like to share that experience to submit an article for the next book, the deadline for anyone handing in an article is November 30th 2010. If you would like to submit any articles you can do so by visiting the website and getting in touch with them.

The publication in print is also a good step for making eSports quotes available at universities for papers that students want to write. As you all know, quoting from the internet is, for the most part, not allowed at universities. So contributing a good article to this book means making interesting eSports content available for students at universties. The editors would also be glad if more people from different countries would try to submit their articles in English. They are not only looking for texts but also for photos or, for example, eSports or gaming art. Any articles from students, who present what they did at universities in papers about gaming would also be an excellent addition to the next book.

The website can be found Here.
