Aprils's Cadred CoD4 Top 10
@ Spotlights channel

The Call of Duty 4 Official European Top 10

With 5 expert panelists and votes from 10 top teams, the top 10 aims to bring you an accurate idea on the current top 10 in Europe.

Power Gaming once more declined to give their votes.

The points system remains simple: a first place vote earns that team 10 points, 9 points are awarded for second place, and so on.

On page two you can read who the panel members are, and see their thoughts and opinions on this month's rankings.

Tom "DuRuS" Nevill

Tom has been writing about eSports in some shape or form for over 2 years now, and has recently become the Coverage Manager at Cadred.

Having previously been the Editor-in-Chief of ClanBase, he has a lot of experience with online and offline journalism. Now he is focusing his attention on the CoD scene as well as managing all Cadred's Coverage.

Having been to most of the recent events, he is known amongst the CoD4 and CS:S scenes quite well.

"fnatic are the clear number 1 team this month after another great win at SeC. With the way they are playing I really can't see a team beating them for some time.

H2k have shown that they are a strong team, after coming 2nd at SeC as well as doing well in the ED League. Reason Gaming have also dropped down below Power as I don't feel their new player, Trigger, has quite settled into the team. I am sure Reason will get back to the level they were, but just not yet.

The middle part of the table is really hard to determine, but I feel dignitas aren't the team they should be with the players they have. I need to see a bit more from Infused and zeroPoint before we can move them any further up. Overall a good month, and it shows in a very close top 10."

Graham "messioso" Pitt

Graham has been around the Call of Duty scene since it's very birth. He first began making progress in the scene as a ClanBase supervisor back in 2006 and has since worked for the CGS, ESEA, ESH and mainly the ESL, where he has run the UK ESL Pro Series, as well as working on the ENC and EMS in recent months.

He has since joined the Cadred team to provide even more coverage of CoD4 online and offline and to provide continued support for the community.

"Fnatic clearly take top spot after another major event win. Reason drop down a place, i imagine more time with Trigger to gel and they will be right back up there. Power gaming move up to 2nd after beating Reason at SEC. H2k move up to 4th after their fantastic display at SEC, consistancy is the key from them now.

Dignitas slide down the rankings after another 1st knockout round defeat, it simply isn't good enough for a team of this calibre. From there we have zeroPoint, YYT, SPEEDLINK in no real order, all non SEC attendees so they haven't had much chance to move up. Infused and Corgz take the final two spots."

Camiel "Jetset" Rietbergen

Jetset, a 22 year old Dutch student currently in his final year of his bachelor studies, has been part of one of the biggest CoD portals since early 2005.

As the current director of content for Tek-9, he has put hours of time and effort into the CoD scene, giving it the attention it needed.

As one of the most highly respected journalists in the CoD scene, he certainly knows who the top teams are.

"All in all, fnatic is a very easy choice for first place. They have been by far the most dominant team at LAN in the recent months, winning the Crossfire Intel Challenge 7 and the SteelSeries Esport Challenge. The battle for second place was actually quite close as I consider H2k, Power Gaming and Reason Gaming to be pretty much equal in terms of level of play.

However, H2k finished second at SEC and won the first season of the Enemy Down League by Vita Nova, making them my number two this month, ahead of Power Gaming and Reason Gaming.

SPEEDLINK have shown some very strong results online and are now at six in my list (8 last month), while Infused have dropped one spot. New in my list is mTw, who I placed just outside the top 10 last month. They seem to have improved and I felt they should be included."

Will "wizinium" Hunter

Will is a 19 year old student who is currently completing a Business Studies and Accounting Degree in Northern Ireland and has been involved in the COD scene since the release of COD2.

He is currently Community Manager over at TEK9 Networks, Project Manager for the Vita Nova and Head Admin Of Multiplay COD4 Pickup and quite recently has been picked up as a Esports Heaven COD4 Admin hosting numerous One Night Wonder Cups.

"This months ranking should be accurate down to the fact we had SEC at the end of the month which was the only competition worth noting.

We see fnatic who are top of Europe once again after winning SEC, can anyone beat them at a LAN final? The summer will be very interesting! We see H2k second after a strong performace at SEC, maybe Miracle's injury was a tatical one but it didnt affect the team and managed to finish second. Reason and power come in 3 and 4 with strong LAN performances as always.

From 5-10 all these spots are up for grabs with very little seperating each team. mTw move back into my top10 after a decent SEC performance with them making it out of the groups and nearly beating power gaming. The summer will be interesting, I wonder how much change will happen during these few months and how much will the rankings change? Only time will tell."

Adam Vanner

Adam has been heavily involved at the top of the CoD scene since 2008 and in that time has been to over a dozen LAN events. Probably best known for his out of game exploits such as bringing the community together for CIC7, he is now enjoying a dual role as a CoD4 player and as the Community Manager at Vita Nova. With former teams such as infused, YoYotech and Infused he's gained a lot of experience and knows the game and it's players inside out.

"This month is a little difficult to put into any kind of order because some of the teams in last months top 10 didn't attend the recent SEC lan. I've tried to merge the events results with more emphasis on SEC. My obvious choice for number one is Fnatic, this time simply do not lose when it matters and are the completely undisputed number one. I've decided to place Reason in 2nd as they have only lost twice at the last two lans, both times to the number one Fnatic. Power deserve 3rd spot after two consistent finishes but with talk of a lineup change who knows what the future holds for them. H2k grab my 4th spot with a quality SEC where they tore apart the opposition and took a map off Fnatic.

After this point things become a little bit more difficult, I've decided to put Dignitas in 5th simply because they've lost twice in single elimination to finalists and have been quite unlucky. To put anyone above them would be in my eyes a mistake. 6th-8th has 3 teams that didn't attend SEC in Zeropoint, Speedlink and YYT. I've decided to put them in this order due to their results at CIC7 and also their Vita Nova results.

For the first time in ages MTW have made it into one of my top 10's. A 12-12 draw with power has shown they are slowly improving with their LAN play, they now need to prove they can consistently compete and desperately need a top 3 finish. Last and definitly not least is the new infused team. Beating MCA was a great achievement and coupled with an impressive CIC7 means they grab 10th spot."

The Top 10 will continue at the end of May with another version of the top 10.
