Arbalet Continues
@ Arbalet Cup channel

Just a few hours ago it was unclear whether the South Korean team would actually make it into the second round of the tournament. Now the administrators of the Arbalet Cup have decided – WeMade FOX will be going through to the next round.

Previously, EG have handed in a complaint regarding the actions of WMF’s Sun Ho "termi" Pyun, who performed an illegal defuse during WMF’s match against UNiTED on de_inferno. As the Arbalet rulebooks turned out to be too vague, the administrators struggled to agree on a decision.

Finally, the tournament’s administration has announced the following:

During the demo watching we have found that WeMadeFoX player "Termi" did an illegal defuse through an object in the 5th round.

This defuse did not affect the round outcome, because UNiTED players didn't even check the bomb when "WEmade FOX termi" was defusing it.

According to the rules "any player or team caught breaking a rule or performing an infraction will be subject to either a warning, at the minimum, or a fortreit loss, at the discretion of the referee".

Official decision for this situation will be the following. We give yellow card for team "WeMadeFoX" and all the results of group "C" are not changing.
The illegal defuse was brought to the administrators' attention by EG, who had no right to officially dispute the match as only the teams involved in the actual match are allowed to do so. However, the administrators decided to investigate the complaint anyway. According to the administrators, the main reason that the decision-making took so long is simple: This is the first time - in the LAN history of professional 1.6 - that an illegal defuse played a (seemingly) important role in deciding the possible outcome of a tournament.

A statement released by Arbalet's administration read:

If we talk about professional Counter-Strike and the biggest tournaments' experience in terms of judgement, there was not even one occasion connected with bomb defuses on de_inferno," an Arbalet Cup statement read.
In effect, the schedule of the tournament remains unchanged and as such the tournament will not be delayed. The show shall go on according to the schedule.

Stay tuned for future updates.
