TCM Withdraw From CS:S
@ Scene news channel

Following a period of disappointing returns on their support of CS:S teams, TCM-Gaming have finally decided to call time on their support for the game. It represents the withdrawal of an organisation that has been supporting CS:S for one of the longest spells in the UK.

While it isn't entirely clear exactly what precipitated the decision it does seem to have been a number of factors. When TCM acquired their latest team they made it clear that it would be their last roll of the dice within the CS:S community. That relationship now seems to have come to an end, albeit amicably.

General Manager Craig 'walkah' Walker made a statement on the TCM-Gaming website:

We all know that the Counter Strike: Source scene is not the most stable at this current moment in time, and that there is a general negative feel amongst the competitive community. Our decision however, is not based on this, but purely based on our own set targets and guidelines that we set our new team when we agreed terms at the beginning of May, simply not being met.

Although there was some unfortunate circumstances that did occur, we have made the decision to finally draw the line under all operations in Counter Strike: Source. I must make the point that we were 100% behind the team and ready to fully support them for the duration of our relationship and that there are no bad feelings between the team and TCM-Gaming.

I would like to personally thank Chris, Simen, Ole, Jim and George for their services under TCM-Gaming and wish them the best of luck in what they each decide to persue, both online and offline. I would also like to make clear that we will not be looking to replace the team, therefore any applications that are sent to us will be disregarded.

Representing the players George "hudzG" Hoskins added:

When announcing this team around 1 month ago, we had set realistic and achievable goals within the TCM camp, even though LAN79 in many peoples eyes didnt go well we still had a fun and enjoyable time together. The night we got knocked from the tournament we had a team meeting discussing our future with the team, and things were looking bright with a bootcamp and DSRack/AEF planned. We were ready to move forward and start practicing after the exam period.

Unfortunately due to unforseen real life circumstances that could not be helped this was not possible, and this sparked the end of CSS support from TCM-Gaming and the end of our team. I'm sure we will all remain good friends and we respect the decision of TCM-gaming, especially Craig and Jim who worked closely with us throughout our time and at LAN79. I'd like to wish Jimmy, Simen , Chris and Ole all the best in whatever they do next as they are all great individual people who deserve the very best.

As for me I am currently undecided about my future within this game, over the years I've met alot of great people and shared alot of great memories and I currently dont know which direction I'm headed or which way I really want to go but we will see. Once again thank you for your support at LAN79, thank you to Jim and Craig for all there hard work and hopefully see you all in the future sometime.

Simen "warclown" Aas Henrikson added his own thoughts on the matter on his personal site:

Wow, what can I say. My last serious team in CS:S, one that I hoped would last longer than it did now. To clarify to people who dont really know what happened: Two of our players (jiMMy and Helblinde) would be moving to new apartments during the summer which resulted in them not having Internet during the summer.

As most of you know, the summer is the busiest of times within CSS having some of the greatest events. I would like to thank so many for my time playing CSS, but at least in this newspost I will keep it solely to the guys I played with and the great management in TCM. Their decision to remove us was fully understandable, even though we couldn't really do anything about 40% of our roster being without internet. But it would've lead to us having to use stepins for the biggest events in Source .- which in the end would pretty much seem like a "lineup change" for them and most of the others reading this.

TCM is a great organization and I have nothing but good things to say about them, so good luck in your endeavors in the future!

Thanks to those of you who have always supported me when ive been in various teams that, like this team, didnt work out in the end. You may all have your own personal view on how most of my teams have folded, but I can guarantee you that I were never apart of the teams "folding" choice :b

Thanks for an awesome time, I will surely never forget this part of my life .. ever :) I got to travel around Europe to meet alot of safe and awesome people - and even though CSS might have fucked up some of my grades (at uni and high school) it has certainly given me more than ive lost.

You might see me in a Norwegian team that will attend small local events in Norway, just to keep my competitive-side satisfied! :D But I will not be pursuing CSS at a high level anymore! Thank you, everyone.. xoxo<3

The organisation also added that former member James "PEZ" Perrot would now be free of all contractual obligations. TCM made it clear they would be finishing out the UK EPS season as well.

The last TCM-Gaming CS:S squad was:

George "hudzG" Hoskins
Simen "warclown" Aas Henrikson
Ole "gem" Christian Slaattene
Jim "jIMMy" Thorsen
Christofer "Helblinde" Nilsson
