Team Dignitas have secured their chance to compete in the ESWC after beating vitalsigns 2-1. The event will be taking place next week from the 1st to the 4th of July with Dignitas going up against some of the best Counter Strike has to offer including the likes of Fnatic and Natus Vincere.

The participation of a UK team comes as good news the UK Counter Strike community who feared for the future of the domestic scene after the failure of the EPS and the cancellation of a LAN qualifier for the ESWC which was then able to be held online.

The finals themselves had somewhat of a 'twist' with RattlesnK playing for vitalsigns, facing off against the organisation that he made his name with during his Counter Strike career, playing in both their 1.6 and Source rosters. He would also be facing off his old teammate wEZ who both had won the CGS Season 2 as the Birmingham Salvo franchise for Counter Strike Source.

The best of 3 finals took place online with vitalsigns looking strong, taking the first map de_dust2 16-8 giving them a 1 map lead. They couldn't keep momentum however and slipped up, Dignitas then took this chance to smash them 16-3 on de_inferno. The 3rd map was de_nuke where Dignitas finished vitalsigns off 16-9, winning the finals 2-1 and allowing them to proceed on to the ESWC grand finals.
