Rumours were abound prior to the event that maybe this would be the last event for the team, some sources suggesting ahead of team captain Marek ".PhP" Kadek's impending retirement, others suggesting there had been a break down in the relationship with the management. Still, whatever the outcome both the Reason Gaming management and the team had little but good to say about one another come the end.
It is the end of an era for Reason Gaming who secured nine titles thanks to the efforts of their team, accolades that include three consecutive i-series victories. The team was never far from the top of Europe and had a run where their dominance was unquestionable. Whether the team will be able to recapture that drive following some disappointing displays of late will remain to be seen and it isn't clear where exactly the team will end up as of yet.
After close to two years with the organisation our Counter Strike Source team will depart with immediate effect, closing one chapter and opening another in the 5 year history of Reason Gaming.
Known and respected as one of the most consistent line ups in European CSS history the Czech/Slovakian powerhouse had more than their fair share of victories. Ever professional the team trained relentlessly continually upping their game to take on and beat the majority of those that challenged them.
From everyone in the Reason management we would like to wish them all the best of luck. Two years is too long for just a simple statement like that so let's pick out some of the highlights:
.PhP – You will never find another leader so calm under pressure as this man, and in the previous season he demonstrated to the community that he was just as terrifying with an AWP as he was with a Rifle, which is why we believe he is Europe's best player. We wish him the best of luck in his future studies.
GuardiaN – Our young Sniper had big boots to fill after WT's departure and who would have thought he could have done it so well. Some players are hungry for a victory but Ladislav's appetite knows no limits!
pR – Who could forget how this man can dominate upper on Nuke, cool calm and collective, and can allways be relied on when it came to clutch situation.
UN - While quiet in the team his actions spoke volumes on the battlefield. He was a vital cog in the team holding the difficult spots whilst letting the others such as PhP and Guardian make the frags. A player like UN is needed in every succesful team.
sneix - When Karel returned to the team after bazy's departure it made a real difference and he was regularly topping the scoreboard and making exceptional plays exactly when it was needed. He was also a good motivator and liked to keep the guys pumped up at lans.
Bazy - We could not say bye to the line up without a mention of Bazy; his i-series performance secured us our third back to back win. He was a great personality and all of the other players in the team loved him.
Naturally the departure of one line up won't mean our removal from CSS, expect us to be back at the top spot in no time at all.
I would like to thank Ben, Adam and Nordy who have been always honest to us, and tried to help us whenever it was possible. They, without a doubt, invested a lot of time, effort, and money into us, so we tried to do best we could, and hope that it would make them happy. We are proud that we can say we were part of great team such as Reason Gaming is, and even though things weren't always perfect, I want to believe they were proud to have us. I can say we enjoyed two years we had spent here.
Reason Gaming played very important role for us. They were not only managers, but friends. They helped us during toughest times, when Packard Bell didn't want to pay out prizes, or when WT/Guardian were accused of cheating.
I hope their next section will be at least as successful as we were, and I'm sure they will be happy with organisation. Ben knows the scene, and I'm sure he will find some ambitious talented team to represent Reason.
Our future ? It is uncertain. Time will show what will happen in next few weeks, and I truly dare not to guess what is it to come.
Marek ".PhP" Kadek
Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovacs
Martin "UN" Stehlik
Petr "pR" Novak
Karel "sneix" Pavlica
Adam "bazy" Kaplar
