ESH: Sapphire EURO Challenge Final Four
@ Esports Heaven channel

Europe’s finest are fighting for cold cash in the latest edition of the Esports Heaven tournaments

Team Fortress 2 has started to blossom again and as always we make damn sure to seize the day as the recently announced ESH EURO Challenge is already well on its way. The premise is 32 teams fighting on the electronic battlefields for a first prize of 500£ in cash, kindly provided by Sapphire.

The tournament has turned out be ultra competitive with the entire top 8 from Cadred’s top10 attending, including the recent Assembly winners from Power Gaming.

On a busy day one a total of 3 rounds were played in quick succession and the games didn’t disappoint, as we saw the field being mauled down from a healthy 32 teams to the final four who now find themselves in the semi finals.

Round 1 went ahead exactly as expected and several games ended very quickly as the top seeds fought the bottom ones. In Round 2 there were two exciting games; illegal vs. RUSH, which ultimately ended with the top seed making it through after an exhilarating game, where RUSH simply made too many mistakes to be able to claim the victory against the always stable Finns. The other game was Crack Clan vs. k1ck where the underdogs from CC secured themselves a convincing victory against the 5’Th highest ranked team in Europe, kudos to them for their effort.

Round 3 resulted in TLR beating a Dignitas side which had to utilize 2 mercs, one of them playing off-class and the other one playing with Dignitas for what I believe was the very first time. The rest of the games didn’t bring us any surprises and we are now all set for the last 3 games which will go ahead on Sunday 15’th August.
