i40: The Rasta. Dream Ends
@ i40 CS:S channel

For once Rasta. came into an event without any expectations. I'm sure you've all heard the stories on their 5th player so I needn't explain that.

For the past two i-series the team have come here and under performed, failing to reach their seeding. Those results have reflected on their seeding at this event, a 10th place finish was all they had to do to make their seed. Well they have done that and more now as they travel home with their heads held high after a brilliant 5/6th finish. The team have had one of the hardest paths to reach this position too, coming across OX Gaming, DEMONiC.uk, Crack Clan, The Imperial and DEMONiC.mix before finally crashing out.

They made a good go of it against the big dogs of DEMONiC.mix, pushing them all the way on de_nuke and so very nearly causing the upset of the tournament. Starting on the T side of nuke is never a pleasurable experience and against a team full of top class players anything more than a couple of rounds is a bonus, well the Rasta side showed no fear as they - after losing the opening three rounds - took the game to DEMONiC.mix, some excellent takes on the upper bombsite saw them get a foothold in the game and they kept up the pressure, making the big dogs work for every single round.

Both k1ng and serp were on fire for the duration of the match, proving that the UK does have a lot of undiscovered talent as they bossed the game. Heading into the second half with 6 rounds, a great half with all things considered.

After winning the CT side pistol the chance of Rasta taking the glory looked all the more likely, shooting into a 3-0 lead but once the DEMONiC side were able to buy guns they fought their way back into it. With the scores sitting at 6-5 it was DEMONiC who would take the first step into the lower bracket final, Rasta held on for another two rounds but in the end it was just a step too far, losing 16-14. The team can hold their heads high though as they've shown everyone what they can do, DEMONiC now have to up their game for a lower bracket final against TLR.
