CODQCUP is here again
@ Scene news channel

Now the wait is over, the famous online tournament project CODQCUP has announced it's return for 2008 to organise even better tournaments they did this year. This year they gave away 9700€ worth of products in seven different tournaments, knocking out all other Call of Duty 2 online tournaments. In the upcoming January edition there will be room for 128 clans in total which will be divided into 32 groups with four clans in each one. To be able to reach the playoffs, you will have to win your group or play a best out of three single elimination round. Then, if you wish to reach the playoffs, you have to survive the 16 clan group stage with the same structure as in the qualifier round. The signups were opened today and they will be open until 8th January 18.00 CET and the tournament will start on 10th.

Matches will be played as mr12 and ofcourse you have to record demos during a match. All perks except Bandolier (the extra magazine perk) is removed along with grenade launchers, red dot sights and scopes. The newest version of PAMD (Project Ares Modification Developed) is also a must during the tournament and it can be downloaded here.

The organisers have gathered some nice prizes for the tournament including products from Game-Hosting, Noctua, Qpad and Coolink with 300€ cash but it's still uncertain who will get what. It is also a fact that the tournament will clash with the dSLASH tournament due to problems with sponsor deals and dates.

The prize purse for now:

  • 300€
  • 5x Q|PAD CT
  • 5x Q|Wristband
  • 5x Q|Lanyard
  • 5x Noctua NF-P12 (new Noctua 120mm fan)
  • 5x Noctua NT-H1 (new Noctua thermal compound)
  • 5x Coolink Anti-Vibration Bolts
  • 1x 1 month 14 slot Game-Hosting COD4 server
deffan's (supervisor) statement
It is now time to open CODQCUP up again after having a well deserved break during the fall. We once again aim to become the biggest online tournament there is and now for Call of Duty 4 instead of Call of Duty 2. Our goals for the upcoming year with CODQCUP is to make it even bigger then during 2007 when our sponsors handed out prizes for a value over 9 700 Euro in total. Without all the sponsors such as Qpad our main sponsors to Buyuz, Raptor-Gaming, Noctua and plenty others we would never been able to bring all you gamers out there our tournaments

I'm really proud to announce that Qpad once again trust in our work and decided to continue with CODQCUP. After a couple of weeks negotiating with Qpad and other companies we decided it was time to open up the tournament again in January. Despite that the tournament clash with dSlash-tournament we believe we will be able to fill 128 teams that we aim for. For the upcoming tournaments we will work even harder to bring in more prizes and raise the money prize as well.

Last I would like to thank all the sponsors for the upcoming tournament, Qpad, Noctua, Coolink, Game-Hosting and TGBF. TGBF will broadcast the tournament as they normally do. Also a big thanks to apelsin, donk and pit my little crew that have done all work.

For further information and to sign-up, you should check out the tournament website.
