The 2010 KODE5 Global Finals that took place in Peru last December wasn't the most attractive event of the year, with only seven teams, all Latin American, in attendace.
The top three finishers at the global finals, CnB-Gaming, Wild Ineters and Money Makers, have all come forward claiming that the KODE5 organisation have not yet paid out their winnings from the event that took place more than 5 months ago. This is something that any team that has finished well at an i-Series or reached the ESL Pro Series finals will be familiar with, even more so for those who are still owed money from The eXperience 09.
Evidently this process is a new one for the Latin Americans, who are beginning to get frustrated with the lack of communication that KODE5 are providing.
Wild Ineters player Juan Manuel "mvk" Argogliosi said the following to larepublica.pe:
We know these procedures take some months but we did not believe they would disrespect us in such way, not giving any signs of life for months, disappearing from the face of the earth.
Sandro Jurado of team Money Makers, owed $5,000, added:
We have not been paid yet, we talked to the local organiser of the event [Integrex S.A.C], who simply told us it is the responsibility of the international brand [KODE5] to pay out prizes, but up to this point they have not yet contacted us.
However, it is not just the players who are distressed by the lack of communication from the event organisers, as the company responsible for the security of the Global Finals also claim that they too are still owned money by those responsible for running the event.
Martín Lescano Casanova from Progamer Consultores said:
Manuel Amau, the general manager of Integrex, owes me money. They have only paid me 10 percent, I'm missing approximately 10,000 soles (€2,500).
