Cadred Needs ALL Of You!
@ Scene news channel

It's come to that time again as Cadred looks to bring on board more fine writers and technical experts to continue steering her in the right direction.

Before you lose the plot completely Cadred isn't actually a ship and what I did right there was use a metaphor.. Where did I learn that you ask? Why writing for Cadred of course. We are now entering a relatively quiet period in the e-sports scene as gamers around the world venture outside to top up their face tans and enjoy the summer months, as such it seems like the perfect time to boost our stable of writers in order to continue providing the excellent coverage you have come to enjoy.

In the past we've divided up applications by game but that's not really a true reflection of what we're looking for. Forget for a moment the need to be embedded in one particular scene... What we want ideally are people that are enthusiastic about e-sports as a whole, who want to learn some of the basics regarding online reporting and - of course - love Cadred.

Having a working knowledge about a scene will of course help your application but those three qualities are the most important above all. The reality of being a writer for a site of this size is that one moment you could be doing a post about a newly formed team of 1.6 superstars, before interviewing a CS:S player and then finishing the evening off with a HoN tournament write-up. It's a great way to learn about many of the scenes that make up the European e-sports landscape as well as a fantastic way to learn more about reporting and, if English isn't your first language, learn more about the language and improve on your grasp of it.

The following will also greatly help your application:

- Able to dedicate a few hours a week of spare time to contribute to the site
- A desire to learn about the basic principles of reporting
- A respectable standard of written English OR if English is a secondary language the desire to improve upon it
- A basic understanding of html and bbcode
- A long standing history of using Cadred

This isn't all we're looking for either, if you're a whiz kid with the Photoshop brush or a genius with Sony Vegas then we'd love to hear from you as we are always in need of some artwork and, more recently, frag clips!

If you think you fit the bill apply and we can promise you some hands on experience alongside one of the best news teams in e-sports. Still not interested? OK... We also run a crew reward scheme where volunteers earn points for their efforts that can be exchanged for the latest hardware from Razer and Sennheiser. We are also committed to developing writing talent and will provide any successful applicants with an opportunity to see their work reach a broad audience.

So if this sounds like the kind of thing you'd be interested in send an application listing a bit about yourself, any relevant experience and why you want to do it to m.mcghee@cadred.org

Good luck to all who apply.
