It's a sad day for the CS:S scene as one of the true greats of the post-CGS era have decided to hang up their mouse and keyboard for good.

Years ago the French CS:S scene was considered a laughing stock by the wider European community, filled with players and teams who couldn't cut the mustard at LAN events yet performed supremely well online. It's still the same story for many players in the scene but after the collapse of the CGS there were a new breed of Frenchmen eager to prove that their nation wasn't filled with onliners and cheaters, one of those men was Loic 'RegnaM' Peron.

After making a name for himself as an up and comer alongside various others in Team Emulate he was given the opportunity to do it on a regular basis when tasked with bringing the VeryGames organisation the glory they wanted. After an illustrious 2 and a half years with the organisation - surviving numerous lineup incarnations and roster shuffles - he has finally decided to call time on his playing career.

Famed for being one of the most intelligent players in the game as well as one of the best French riflers ever he will be sorely missed, however his legacy will live on through the team he built, now considered the number one in the world and arguably the best ever to grace the game. It won't be the end of the e-sports career as he aims to stick around in some form, however he has stated that under no uncertain terms he will not be playing the game competitively again.

What VeryGames will do in his absence remains to be seen but the search has already begun and there is no shortage of candidates in a scene bursting with talent. Loic will continue to play with the team until a 5th player has been found but once that day comes we can safely call it an end of an era.

Loic said the following in a VeryGames press release:

Tonight I am here to tell you an important news as I decided end my gaming career.

You will probably wonder why such a choice in this crucial moment of the calendar? As some already know, I resumed school in October, since then my personal life has evolved a lot and I don't have enough time anymore to invest myself into a professional team like Team VeryGames. Recents months were not easy to manage and even if I still enjoy playing, it would be selfish to keep on playing at these conditions.

I discussed with my teammates and staff of the team this weekend during NeXeN to consider further. I will not quit overnight, I will still play until a fifth is found. I will not quit gaming world either but playing for another team isn't an option at all. I intend to remain in Team VeryGames staff and I will see later how to continue to support the community.

I would like to thank my teammates and VeryGames organization whom with I spent the best moments of my gaming career, and of course all people who supported me during all these years!
