We had a pretty good turn out for the first round of matches in the SteelSeries CCL last week but as you will be only too aware we suffered a massive data loss and were forced to kick things off again this week with all new data. Let's try and explain what is going on so everyone knows where they stand......
We did intend on carrying in from where we left off, but it simply got too complicated so what we are doing is simple starting with this weeks fixtures as shown on the fixtures tab. Of the eighty fixtures scheduled here six of them were played last week and have the score entered already and will not need to be played again.
Because the fixtures are randomly generated when we create the divisions we were unable to exactly recreate the match schedule so whilst you have the same teams in your division you play them in a different order.
Simply put, six matches still had valid results from last week as they had teh same opponent. Everyone else has a new fixture and we are treating this as a fresh start. We could incorporate more of last weeks results by adding them to the fixture where teh two teams meet later in the season but frankly I had a hard time explaining it to half of the admin staff let alone the teams so this has been agreed on being the best way forward.
Teams are requested to contact their opponents and organise their fixture for tomorrow night. Please check the fixtures tab and follow the "details" link for further info.
All your anti cheat servers are being added back to the system and will be active by tonight. Please note a new version of the SGLac client is now available and can either be downloaded directly or you can use the update feature on the client itself. You will need the new version to take part in the matches.
Some teams and players will have noticed changes on their account because of the data loss and we ask that players check their profiles, team leaders check their rosters and if there is any query at all then please contact theSGL|Uzi in IRC #theSGL or by sending a meesage to mail@theSGL.com where I deal with your problem as quickly as possible.
Once again my personal apologies for the false start last week and in case anyone is wondering we suffered a double hard drive failure resulting in a lot of lost data - this is why things have had to be changed/played again.
Look out too for links (appearing shortly) on the tournament overview page to our global and regional news partners who have been working their asses of to bring you details of national, regional and continental level news.
