Capping for a Cause - Round Two!
@ Scene news channel

Some pessimistic Team Fortress Two Players and News Writers have been saying team fortress two is a dying game, with LAN attendance plummeting, epic LAN being called off, things were looking bad. Yet on the other side of the planet the Australians are holding the Team Fortress Two Flag high, not only high but in a light that not many games seem to be in, charity.

The avid team fortress two gamers in Australia are taking part in another charity event – Capping for a Cause. The last event saw the event organisers raise $6,358.50 for The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia or BeyondBlue – Australia’s National Depression Initiative. And this event has set its sights even higher, with already $4,533 pledged it will not be long until they exceed last year’s total.

It’s not often you see gaming being used as a way to promote and raise money for charities but gamers in Australia are looking to compete in the event named Capping for a Cause two, the event is a pay to play event, each team having to donate at least $30 to participate, not only that but the more a team donates the higher their seeding, the incentive as for any charity event is to raise as much money as possible, even if that means giving teams an arguably better advantage being seeded as #1.

The event will be in the form of a two division, double elimination style. With 16 teams already the event is sure to be an exciting one especially for such a special cause. All the money raised will again be going to The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia or BeyondBlue.

Capping for a Cause 2 (C4C2) have also put restrictions on the unlocks in the tournament with only the kritzkreig and Equalizer being allowed. This will allow for the games to be streamed and played competitively as they are meant to rather than with all the unlocks.

Our friends over at vanilla tf2 will have coverage of the event with VanillaTV streaming the grand finals and Vanilla TV Open Mic covering the group stages. Another reason for people to watch the sourceTV is for the freehats given by ozfortress.

It’s not very often you are able to participate in a tournament for charity and if your now done with exams and wanting to see an exciting game of competitive Team Fortress 2 be sure to tune in over at vanilla tf2!
