SK Gaming Make Genius Decision
@ Scene news channel

SK Gaming have made the shocking decision to release their HoN team, but they haven't taken long in finding a replacement as they pick up the former Evil Geniuses side.

Since venturing into Heroes of Newerth the organisation has been home to the same team, yet after a year together and numerous ups and downs, they have decided to release what's left of the line-up. The team were previously known as Clan [5] and were highly regarded in the HoN community, with many believing them to be the best team in the world. After joining SK they managed to top the HoNcast community rankings several times and picked up a number of podium placings in high profile online tournaments.

Yet despite being one of the best teams on Earth they have struggled for months on end to find a stable and consistent roster, with a number of players stepping in and out of the team after short stints, the latest of which has caused some tension. As such the organisation have decided to part ways with the three remaining members of the team. Replacing them will be none other than the former Evil Geniuses team who have decided that SK Gaming can offer them more support than their former American organisation.

Orie 'YoDa' Guo said the following to SK-Gaming.com:

We've had a rough road when it comes to sponsors. Essentially, everyone so far that wanted to sponsor us wasn't used to dealing with American HoN teams. Every tournament was either a costly LAN in Europe or an online tournament - no American LANs that they could afford to send us to. EG wasn't any different.

Considering the only purpose we would even have to sign with a sponsor is to go to LAN events, this was unacceptable. We've now worked out a deal with SK that is more appropriate for HoN, and look forward to being able to proudly represent SK at any big LAN events that S2 Games or any other organization happens to host for the duration of our cooperation.

Robert 'Bdiz' Tinnes added:

I'm a newer guy with the team, and can't speak of the relationship with EG, however I am looking forward to a bright future with the SK Gaming organization. As many of you know, I played for the organization before for quite a long time. SK has always been a very professional and straight forward organization whenever I talked to them in the past about anything, and I'm looking forward to representing SK at LAN events and meeting some of the faces at SK that I know so well!

SK Gaming.HoN is now:

Orie 'YoDa' Guo
Brendan 'se`busca' Taveirne
Allen 'FujiApples' Tu
Steven 'Korok' Ashworth
