Online Kingdom take gold in EMS after defeating Canadian team DWi/Jokes On You.

The win means a bright end to a difficult period for the team who found themselves undone at the Dreamhack Summer tournament, losing out to underdogs KD-Gaming and failing to qualify for the main event. In the build up to the tournament they were considered one of the best teams on the planet and perhaps the only team who could stop the mighty fnatic.MSI, something they have since proved with a 2-1 win over the giants in the semi finals of this seasons ESL Major Series.

The win set up a grand final match-up against either Canadian side DWi or Infused.tt, after a brilliant series it was the Canadians who came out on top to book their spot in the grand final. The first game of the series an aggressive lane set-up saw the Europeans take an early advantage and despite working hard to shut down the ever improving farm of Aluna there was little they could do once both Corrupted Disciple and Wildsoul picked up their core items and before long the Canadians base was breached, handing a 1-0 lead to their opponents.

Best of three matches have a tendency to swing from one team to the other and this was no different as DWi came flying out of the traps in game two, using an extremely gank oriented Nymphora strategy and successfully shutting down the opposition carry with her ultimate. After around 30 minutes DWi looked to be cruising and a genocide for the team pushed OK over the edge, with the Europeans calling a concede vote. It seemed slightly rushed from the team and the gap wasn't unassailable, yet Online Kingdom chose to focus their efforts on game number three instead.

Game three saw Online Kingdom run the Nymphora strategy and once more it paid dividends as the team dominated from the off. Despite not being as active as the Canadians in the second game they never really looked like losing, choosing their fights carefully and waiting for DWi to make a mistake. The team showed the world the power of a well timed buy-back to clean up after being wiped out themselves before eventually pushing the base and closing the game out.

The win will no doubt see the side shoot back up the rankings and also nets them a cool €2500. Here are the final standings:
