Cadred Wants Fresh Blood
@ Scene news channel

It's that time again where we have to look at taking on board some new staff. It's no secret that we've grown a lot this past year and with that growth comes the need for some new faces to help us maintain our high standards.

Past posts looking for applicants have often lead to a lot of people coming forward but not so many staying the course. Maybe we're overselling the gig, maybe you young whippersnappers have no staying power... Either way we're going to change our approach.

We often tell you all the great things about working for Cadred. The ability to make a contribution to e-sports, the chance to work alongside a team dedicated to developing new talent in all areas of e-sports reportage, the chance to attend events around Europe... All well and good. Yet many people come in thinking it's a path to instant e-sports glory.

Here's what being a Cadred staff member won't do for you:

- It won't make the community suddenly respect you. If anything it's like painting a bullseye on your face.
- It won't get you into super cool invite channels
- It won't help you get into teams. Every game you play will end in you being insulted for "just" being a news writer.
- It won't swell your bank account
- It won't make you better with the opposite sex
- It's not easy
- It's not something that can simply be done in between mixes. Some spare time and dedication is required.

Now for those people who still aren't deterred and actually want to get into e-sports journalism there's probably no better place to start. A chance to work alongside an award nominated team of writers and editors, placed within a company with a proven track record of rewarding it's staff and a crew reward scheme that means your sweat can be turned into Razer gear. Not bad is it really?

We want the following:

- SC2 Writers
- HoN Writers
- CoD4 Writers
- CS:S scene enthusiasts from Germany, Portugal, North America and Eastern Europe
- People with the balls to voice their opinions in writing

Forget all the other stuff. Yeah, you will need to learn some html or at the very worst blunder by with bbcode. You will need to learn how to chase up stories and how to present the facts. You will need to brush up on your English if it isn't your first language.

All of these things can be learned and that's the fun bit. It guarantees you'll leave us in the future having gained something and us in return.

Apply to Richard.Lewis@heavenmedia.com but only if you really want to give it a go.
