The tale of the tape, we are pleased to bring you the team statistics courtesy of the formidable SkillTracker system here at theSGL - making every shot count! The top ranked five players for each team are listed below and averaged out to show the teams relative skill levels over the league stages of the event. Please note whilst this shows the teams best five players according to SkillTracker it isn't an attempt to predict the probable line up for this tie. Also for those of you who have been complaining the stats are wrong and dont match up to the ones shown on the player tabs, these are the stats for matches played in this event only (the ones on the player profiles are for EVERY match played at theSGL in total)
What a difference a game makes. Last week there were those that decided to make .beta the scapegoat for what they saw as a below par performance against Esuba. The main thing of course that they won the encounter and marched on into the semi final vs Alternate aTTax where many of the same people were struggling to find enough superlatives to describe the same player as he orchestrated multiple mass take downs (especially as CT on inferno). It seems seven days is indeed a long time in online gaming...
The Four-Kings stats are once again led by Hughsy who once again led by example against aTTax in all three maps. Whenever he was still breathing you alwyas had the sense something could happen - no matter the odds. No doubt at all that he has been the star of this tournament for his team and is probably more responsible than most for their place in this grand final.
One man of course does not make a team and the other members should and will not be discounted for their part in the tremendous run of victories that have brought them this far. The question is of course whether they have made hard work of their two play off matches or if as i personally suspect they have shown great character and determination to dig out results against highly motivated opposition even when all seemed lost on several occasions in each tie.
Insignia Cadre have two players in particular who have been making their teams path to this final that bit easier with highly consistent displays in their eight matches thus far. aNGeldustt and gRiLLi have both managed to keep their average above the magical 2k SQ mark and have been a good comparison to Cadre's progress as a whole.
Unlike their adversaries tonight Insignia have not seemed to have the same uphill struggle in each tie and have in fact claimed both their play off matches by two maps to nil and have yet to be pushed to a third map. As you would expect this gives rise to the question of the relative strengths of their opponents.
Infused-Gaming (Quarter final) followed by EBuyer (semi final) may not appear to be as much of a challenge as aTTax for example but then who predicted that Esuba would be so hard to knock over for 4k? Add to that the great team effort that led to Ebuyers surprise victory over Team NoA and you have a team riding the crest of a wave, confident in their skills and tactical execution which will always make them trouble for anyone they meet.

At the time of writing Four-Kings were unavailable for comment as they bootcamp before the upcoming CGS event in Birmingham. This of course does mean they will be playing this tie from the OmegaSektor where the advantage of being together in one place will be offset against the possible distraction of playing in a public area.
Eversor however gave us his thoughts ahead of what we all hope will be yet another classic match in this series..
"I hope that the Grand Final will be an epic one to compliment the great run the SGL has had so far. 4K has an awesome team with great teamwork and skill + personality to go with it. Both teams are going all out and neither one is giving any inches to the other. Hopefully the next SGL-invite will be even better than this one with less dropouts. I'd say it's anyones game, enjoy it!"
We salute both teams for their skill and endurance in making it to the grand final of this event and we extend our thanks and appreciation to all the other teams who have taken part in the event as whole and given so many people so many talking points and great moments of skill.
This match brings to a close the invite section of this event but we will move on to the Championship and Open play off sections in around one weeks time (yes, we would have preferred to do it the other way round as well , but the simple fact of the CGS finals being right in the middle of the event's closing stages meant we had to play the Invite section first). More information on these matches and schedules will be posted as soon as they are known.
