As well as announcing a Counter Strike tournament for the Winter CPL event, the CPL has announced the winners of both tournaments will face off in a grand final to find the "Counter Strike 2007 Champion"

The CPL announced that it will hold two 64-team Counter-Strike tournaments at the CPL Extreme Winter Championships, scheduled to take place Tuesday, December 18 to Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Dallas, Texas.

The two $50,000 five-versus-five tournaments will feature both Counter-Strike: Source and Counter-Strike 1.6.

The winning teams of the Counter-Strike:Source and 1.6 tournaments will then face each other in a final (on stage) match to determine the 2007 Counter-Strike World Champion. The final match will be held on Nuke, Dust 2, and CPL Mill.
