Shortly before Zboard meet Infused in the Lower Bracket Final, Cadred.org caught up with Kyle "fatal" Mardel, to see how he’s been enjoying this event so far!

Cadred: Hi fatal! An impressive set of results so far, coming to an end when Four-Kings knocked you down into the lower bracket, but you came back, beating Team Ebuyer 16-6, putting you into the Lower Bracket Final. The big question now is can you beat Infused Gaming? We haven’t play mill really, i think 1 game vs. copenhagen which look everything was flowing together great. Contra vs. fnatic showed that we can freestyle effectively :)

Cadred: Assuming you do get past Infused Gaming, you will meet Four-Kings in the Consolidation Final - while you have already lost to them this event, you pulled off an amazing performance to hold fnatic to a 15-15 draw, the same fnatic who just hammered Four-Kings down into the Consolidation Final - you must be hopeful that you can pull off the same performance you managed in the group stages?

Well hopefully that battering from fnatic would of demoralized them enough to allow us to pick up some rhythm as T to put the points on board. But then again, it is played on nuke, which is a shit map!

Cadred: So if you can beat infused and then four-kings, you will end up needing to win 2 maps against fnatic. Having drawn with them once, do you think that will give you the extra experience needed to beat them, or will it have given them valuable information about your style of play, giving them the upper edge?

Well we're a really new line-up, so we’re improving all the time. We definitely have it in us to take this all the way, but they are a top quality team, so it’s really hard to say. We might even go out before the final!

Cadred: On the subject of the new line-up, obviously Ritch recently joined you “just for i31” from Four-Kings – he’s been a great help already, with some impressive performances, is there any chance he might be staying with you for a longer period of time?

Obviously nothing has been announced yet, but we’re playing great as a team. Personally I think he will decide to play, as together we can really challenge Four-Kings for the best in UK spot, and Ritch is a great guy.

Cadred: Recently you mentioned that you would personally like to be moving away from the zboard name, and getting a new title/name sponsor – do you have anything specific planned?

Zboard are an amazing company along with Ceratech, but they won’t support any entry/travel to European events. Unless Zboard do get drafted by CGS, which is quite unlikely, I’ll be looking for something else that catches my fancy.

Cadred: How do you feel this event has gone so far? Has it all been run ok, with decent servers, timings, and so on?

Yeah, as always Multiplay have run this event great, servers have been fine throughout, and timings are pretty normal. Nothing to complain about really! (feel free to change to “lololol fail!!” if you don’t like how its gone :P)
