Fragmasters Sapphire With Changes
@ Scene news channel

As most of you will know the Fragmasters organisation has supported two teams since its beginnings many years ago. For most of that time the Toxic tag has been reserved for the big-name players whilst the Sapphire tag has been taken by the slightly less high profile side.

As is the norm with the very top end of the European scene the Toxic tag has been taken by numerous top players and teams who have failed to last more than a few months before imploding, the Sapphire name on the other hand has been home to the same Portuguese team - minus a few changes - for over two years now. At the time of them joining the organisation they were considered the best team in Portugal, however since then they have slowly been declining.

Some disappointing performances led to changes as they looked to take their crown back from their big rivals, Online Kingdom. Unfortunately they have failed to do that and after another poor outing at XLParty have chosen to ring in the changes once more. Returning to the team will be Nuno “Extremo” Aquino whilst they will also be picking up starlet João “Kronus” Lopes. In order to make space for the two new players they have chosen to part ways with dy_ and deep.

Mario “Fyx” Rodrigues said the following on the Fragmasters website:

Hey everyone. It has been more than 6 months since we added new players to the team but unfortunately changes were needed again and this time we replace 2 of the 3 recent players we had. Deep and dy are amazing guys and I wish them best of luck in the future in both real life and within eSports. Joining the team is my long-time friend, Extremo, who has shared with me some of the brightest times of FM SAPPHIRE in both national and international LAN’s. The last time he pulled on the Sapphire shirt was at LAN79 and we felt we needed his experience and ability as a reliable solid LAN player. The other player that joins us is Kronus. A player with amazing aim and a great team player he brings a different game style that we needed. We have big expectations for the eswc qualifier (that is our main goal, if it happens!), the Iberian League Finals and in a short term, this August’s big international event: Insomnia-43. I would like to thank fragmasters and it sponsors, Sapphire, Bullguard, ZOWIE and Multiplay.

FM! Sapphire are now:

Mário “Fyx” Rodrigues
André “Paradyze” Horta
Mário “Kowualla” Gonçalves
Nuno “Extremo” Aquino
João “Kronus” Lopes
