Browsing the current news feeds coming out of theSGL over the past month or so it struck me that we looked very much like a CSS league dabbling with 1.6 on rare occasions. The summer is upon us and things are never good for a league season at this time of year (the css season is an exception due to the upcoming CGS events) and UKPL aside the cupboard has been bare for our core user base. Time to change that around...

theSGL CUPRUN III kicks off on Tuesday 7th August at 20:00

For those of you who may still be unfamiliar with a CUPRUN format here's a quick rundown on what you can expect. Each night we will accept sixteen teams into a one night cup. The two finalists progress to the grand final played on Sunday. If you take part in one of the nightly qualifiers and fail to qualify then there is nothing stopping you from applying again for the next night.

Nightly qualifiers will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week with a special Saturday Night Live event on the 11th to fill the final two places in the eight team final on Sunday 12th (again from 20:00 so any UKPL teams will need to check their schedules as league matches will take priority for you).

Registrations have now closed for the first night but subsequent evenings will be opened up at random times on the preceeding day to give teams every chance of registering - so keep checking back. Priority will be given to teams with an eligible roster of five players. Looking forward to getting some 1.6 action back on the servers !

The first batch of sixteen teams have been added to the CUPRUN fixture list. These were the first sixteen teams to apply who had at least five players on their roster. There were four other teams who had less than five, they are more than welcome to apply again for another qualifier.
