TeX: Day 2 Recap
@ The Experience 2007 channel

After an action packed day, full of surprises, we come to close the coverage of day 2 of The Experience LAN in Roskilde, Denmark.

We kicked off the day with interesting news, a German mix consiting of mTw and n!faculty players arrived, already having paid for a spot they only needed to play for the travel, they replaced Logitech.fi who decided to travel (and later win) ASM, despite having paid for a spot here.

So we kicked off the day with a continuation of the previous nights Group stages, straight away Catch23 caused a major upset by comprehensively beating H2K 20-10. With Fastswitch.no following the trend with a surprising draw with fnatic.

Round 2 saw pretty much every game go to plan, including the first all british match up of the tournament, Ebuyer beating infusedGaming in a fairly close game. I have been following infusedGaming quite closely, today, and in my opinion they are very unlucky to be the first British team to go out.

Round 3 saw the Germans continue their unbeaten run with an easy 23-7 victory, 4kings restored order at the top by defeating the fastswitch.no that drew with fnatic. And Catch23 continued their impressive tournament with yet another victory, albeit against weaker opposition than H2K.

Round 4 saw two very interesting matches, two of the top Danish teams, Roskilde and H2K battling for the top spot in the group. Roskilde triumphed, a result that surprised many considering H2ks perceived dominance. infusedGaming, while not being an underdog were certainly forced to play well to beat a German side that was yet to lose a game.

In the final group games, Copenhagen eSports and 4kings fought it out for the top of the group, and more importantly, a 100 euro prize. 4kings triumphed in this match, but not after having to claw their way back from down against the Danes. Ebuyer lost to the only Germans in attendance 16-14, this left the group is an interesting situation, both teams had the same amount of points, both teams had the same round difference, but GermanWixMix had 1 more round won, a incredibly close 100 euro contest there.

I was going to do the rest of the article tonight, but then I went and had a few drinks with the team, who are doing an awesome job, I'll finish this tommorrow when I'm sober! I apologize for the poor coverage, this is due to network/internet issues outside my control, I'm off to bed, its 4AM.

Hello, awake again and I will continue from last night where I left off. The lower bracket promptly started, with the huge shock of the round was Cybernetic Mercenaries losing to an unknown mix team, who had not won during the whole event, 16-14. Mortifer got knocked out by a much stronger XPG.

The first upper bracket round was not a good one for the UK teams, both infusedGaming and Ebuyer losing by 10 and 9 rounds each to Catch-23 and H2K Gaming respectively. 4kings overpowered the highly impressive multiGamer 16-10, haz has been fitting in superbly!

The lower bracket round straight after saw multiGamer bounce right back to defeat XPG, but infused went out in somewhat controversial style, they were winning 6-0 on ct half, then the server restarted. When they got back all the momentum was lost and they lost the next 8 rounds. Ebuyer and gpro had the match of the tournament so far though. 15-14 to gpro, after an incredibly closely fought match, 3vs5, tom comes out with a 5 man ace to put the match into overtime. After this gpro looked demoralised and ebuyer walked over them getting 4 out of 4 rounds needed.

Possibly the best fixtures so far. Roskilde played incredibly to defeat eyeballers 16-10, with 3k2 tearing things up with his awp. The italian train was finally stopped, but not after a lot of effort by NoA. Afterwards olander told me one scentence which summed it up.

They are the best team ever

4kings had no trouble dispatching the GermanWixMix to the lower bracket. In the best game on paper, and in practice here, fnatic took on H2K, fnatic had a solid CT half, winning 10-5 but some sloppy play in the last few rounds, enabled H2K to take the game 16-14.

And the last game of the day, Eyeballers were eliminated by a talented multiGamer, in an amazingly close game, fnatic had no trouble dispaching fastswitch, and copenhagen eSport and catch23 dispatched GermanWixMix and ebuyer respectively.

I relaxed with the crew, who are doing the best job at a lan I have ever seen. I then proceeded to fight with regnam in a mind altered state about how ham is not called jam. I got to bed about 4/5 am and only just woke up, stay with us today for great coverage!
