In Memory of Frank 'vivid' Leenaars
@ Scene news channel

Frank Leenaars, known online as "vivid", died a year ago today.

Frank was killed mid-afternoon in a tragic car accident on the way home after a game of golf.

We would like to ask you all to think of him, his friends and his family, on this sad day.

Frank always enjoyed gaming from a young age, and found himself playing Counter-Strike: Source Beta with xertion, at which time they decided they wanted to start playing seriously.

After meeting Blaze, AirRaid and proph, they formed a team together, playing well together, coming second in ClanBase's EuroCup XII.

Frank is remembered by his friends as the life of the party, always up for a chat, while keeping his head running the team.

Remembered for his great sense of humour, on and offline, and for his always laid-back "Don't worry, be happy!" attitude, Frank was crazy for hardstyle (music), he loved blackjack, and surfing (and of course chilling at the beach with Jack Johnson on). He was also an incedible snowboarder, and he loved going out with friends, be it to the movies, or to a bar.

Milan 'xertion' Veeger recalls his memories of a great friend:

I knew Frank for almost 8 years. We met each other on highschool, and became very good friends shortly after that.

He was always in for a good chat with anyone and that's why a lot of people from the cs:s scene liked him.

I know Frank would've wanted us to continue gaming and that's exactly what we plan to do. I think he is having one hell of a time up there seeing us dominate at the top rankings of Europe!

I wish I could tell you guys everything about him, but that just isn't possible, not even in a lifetime.

I can't believe it has been a year since he died. If I could just turn back time so I could hear him laugh again. It's been so hard for many of us but I know he will always be with us.

I just want to say I feel blessed that Frank was a friend of mind and that I spent 8 awesome years together with him. We will never forget about you Frank!

Perhaps not a traditional spotlight feature here on Cadred, but I am sure you will agree that a guy like Frank really deserves it.

I hope you will join me in giving up your feelings to his friends and family, and by showing your support online, by adding to your game/irc nicknames, and by popping into #Always

Frank, I am glad you were part of my life. You were an outstanding teammate and a true friend. I will never forget you. Xertion
