With less than 1 week to go until the start of the event, and our coverage kicks off, we bring you some more news about the event.
The Prize Money
We are introducing a new prize system to make the QPAD: Counter-Strike:Source tournament even more exciting - with more to fight for, making every single match a thriller.
Group play:
400 EURO is set aside for the group play. Number one in each group will receive 100 EURO which can be cashed in immidiately at the event.
Playoff winners bracket:
In the first round of the winner bracket, each number one from the group play will have a walkover. In the second round of the winner bracket 300 EURO is set aside - securing each winner of that stage 75 EURO. In third round we double up to 600 EURO giving each winner of that stage 150 EURO each. In the winner bracket final the winner of that match gets 300 EURO.
CONSOLATION and GRAND FINALE:
The loser of the Consolation final finishes in 3rd place and will receive 700 EURO. The loser of the grand final finished in 2nd place and receives 2.000 EURO and finally the winner of the grand final receives 4.000 EURO.
Playoff losers bracket:
There is no prize pot set aside in the losers bracket
The schedule below shows the potential prizepot to win:
1st - min. 4.000 EURO / max. 4.625
2nd - min. 2.000 EURO / max. 2.625
3rd - min. 700 EURO / max. 1.025
4th - min. 0 EURO / max. 325
5th-6th - min. 0 EURO / max. 175
7th-8th - min. 0 EURO / max. 100
The Teams
Over the past days we have read on various forums and news sites that some teams who had registered and paid for the-eXperience would not be attending anyways. It was not until today that we have been able to confirm these rumours 100%. The changes have NO impact on the prize pot, since all teams have paid and we have a "no refund" policy. The total prize pot at the-eXperience will still be 8.000 EURO.

ALBAGUBRA have unfortunately been prevented from attending. For many weeks they have tried selling their team ticket, but without luck.

ALBAGUBRA performed excellent in the qualifiers, but with no sponsor it was too big an economical challenge to go from Scotland to Denmark. Luckily today

Team Mortifer from Sweden purchased the ticket and is thus taking their place in Group C. We salute

ALBAGUBRA - "Scotland forever" and welcome the fierce Swedish vikings

Team Mortifer.
At the same time it has come to our attention that all German teams will not be attending the-eXperience 2007. This means that

mTw,

Alternate aTTax and

e-aim are removed. Luckily they were all in different groups, so it has no impact on the original draws.
Finally we have not received payment from

DK Unknown team - and instead of running the risk of having 21 attending teams which would totally crash the tournament system, we have decided to remove

DK Unknown team from Group B.
This way we have a perfect tournament system consisting of 4 groups with 5 teams in each.
You are probably still waiting for the rules, but have no worries - they are on the way and will announced during this weekend!
Fifa Groups
Today we are proud to announce the FIFA competition schedule, as well as the groups for the QPAD: FIFA 07 tournament at the eXperience 07. 16 players from 6 different countries will be attending this years event and they will all compete for a total of 1.500 euros in prize money.
The 16 players will be placed into 4 groups of 4 players. In the group stages each player in a group will meet eachother twice, securing a total of 6 matches in group play. All matches will be played on 2 computers setup in LAN - One player is hosting and one connecting. Since players are competing against eachother twice, then one player will host the first match, and the second player the second match. This will ensure an even playground for all players.
The players finishing in 1st, 2nd and 3rd spot after the group play, will move up into the upperbracket system. In the first winners bracket round players finishing 2nd and 3rd will play eachother, for the chance to meet the 1st placed player. The looser of the 2nd vs 3rd player match, will drop down into the lower bracket where they will meet the players who finished 4th in their respective groups. After these matches the tournament takes on a normal double elimination system.
Throughout the entire playoffs all rounds will be played over 2 matches where each player will host the server. Its the combined goal score that will determine the winner. In the event of a draw the match will go into goldengoal. A draw will determine who will host the golden goal match.
Prizes for the event will be:
1st place: 1.000 euro
2nd place: 350 euro
3rd place: 150 euro
