Frag eXecutors Win ASUS Summer
@ General coverage channel

With some of the big names absent from the list of attendees at this year's ASUS summer event, the first place prize could've gone to any one of a number of teams present. In the end though, it was Frag eXecutors who took the gold.

The two finalists both had to fight long and hard to make their way through to the final of this year's ASUS summer event. Frag eXecutors had an intense match up against the Swedish Lions team, where they only just managed to squeeze through after taking a two to one lead over the Swedes. It was not easy though, as the third and final map went into a nail biting triple overtime seeing Frag eXecutors narrowly scrape their way through, leading them to the final.

Facing the Polish team would be a set of Ukrainians, however, likely not the ones that you would have expected. DTS found themselves up against favourites Natus Vincere in the Semi-Finals, however it appears that the Na`Vi team didn't quite bring their usual standards to the table as DTS managed to take a two to nil victory over the former champions.

The first map of the final saw Frag eXecutors get off to a fantastic start, winning the first half of de_train with a crushing 13-2 lead. Despite losing the first two rounds of the second half, DTS managed to win the third keeping them in the game for a potential overtime. Their hopes were put to an abrupt end however as Frag eXecutors bounced right back and took the win, 16-3.

Map two told a slightly different story however as DTS got off to a three nil lead before they saw any form of resistance from the Polish side. With the first half going down to the wire on de_dust2, it was still all to play for for both of the teams. Going into the second half with a one round deficit, Frag eXecutors knew they were definitely still in the game. They managed to get off to a good start before they were again tied up at nine rounds a piece. From there however, DTS fell behind and Frag eXecutors stormed their way to the first place position with a 16-10 victory.

ASUS Summer Final Standings:

Frag eXecutors - $3,600
DTS - $1,800
3/4th: Lions - $925
3/4th: Natus Vincere - $925
