Following a few sources confirming that there were no professional 1.6ers invited to the Seattle meetings at Valve studios, that scene went into an apoplexy and declared the title would fail without them.
It's made for some interesting debates and while the CS:S invitees, as well as a few luminaries from leagues and broadcasters, have been giving their views it seems clear that Valve will be going in for another wave of feedback in the future.
Following yet another tweet about why the 1.6 community needed to be included to discuss the game that is on the Orange Box Source engine, a CS:GO developer tweeted back that they would be involving some 1.6ers in the future.
The tweet simply said:
Don't worry-we aren’t ignoring them. Meeting with more people & making plans for more feedback sessions especially 1.6 pros
It's not clear when this will happen, who will be invited or whether it will take the same format as the first lot enjoyed but it at least shows that there's a place for 1.6 input into the new game.
We'll bring you more on it as soon as we hear anything.
