theSGL European CSS Invite League IV in association with Tournament.com : Championship C & D
@ General coverage channel

What a night we had last night! Some really skillful players on display as fi Insignia Cadre fought out an even honours 15-15 scoreline with se adastra who in turn gave no quarter allowing the teams to deliver a stunning exhibition for the spectators on SRCtv and QuadV. Thats the second mammoth tie fought out by Cadre and I feel like giving them three points just for the effort they have put in which have sadly only yielded them a single point so far. Else where hu Old Boys Inc moved to the top slot in the Invite West after their immense win over pre match favourites fi Team Logitech.fi CSS. With wins this week for uk Team Ebuyer and uk Auxilia the UK has not been left behind either though the German angle needs a little boost after a no show and wildcard from their two representatives.

sk Defeaters.css   vs fi TeK-9 Networks LTD

After Php and UNsoldier were forced out of the old defeaters lineup, they looked to bring in some fresh faces and did so in the shape of  bazy from the old Defeaters / Eraisers team and STR/sneix from Team Defiance. If the new Defeaters team can live up to old standards by putting in the hours and becoming a new force to be recognized I can see their quality team work prevailing against a very strong tek9 team, look out for bazy to make some amazing plays and PhP to call some very good strats on the fly. This could be another 16-14 result on de_train (a map which Defeaters have been very strong on in recent form) and  hopefully they can cause an entertaining upset in this game.

tek9 beat the new and reformed Cadre team proving that they are a team not to be taken lightly as they showed in week one though we were denied a second glimpse of their skills due to a wild card being used in match night two, zaikovski settled some critics in the Cadre match with his awp skills and he will be looking to do the same in week two against Defeaters as i reckon he could swing this in the favour of tek9 with some early crucial picks that will set them up for some strong teamwork between them to win the rounds to seal the deal against a Defeaters team that shouldn't be taken lightly. To back ths point up tek9 will have put in the hours of practice and should come out on top in this tie.

eu Coldrush   vs uk Team Planet6

Coldrush are one of the few teams which have played both of there games so far, with a loss in there first game against the Russian team human dark side. They did not let there heads drop and they flung themselves back into contention with an excellent win against Aksioo Gaming Group which saw wizz0r shine picking up carrier and playmaker awards. This week will see them face off against the unseen planet6, they might be unseen but planet6 will be no push overs and coldrush will have to excel to there limits to keep there opposition from winning this game.

After a mix up last week which cost planet6 a default they will be eager to impress and put some points on the board. From my experience of planet6 they have always had a strong team full of experience which will be needed to stand them in good stead for the upcoming battle with coldrush. Tactics and teamwork could be the key to this fixture with train being a very tactical map. The question is, have planet6 got anoth to outwit the impressive coldrush team?

ru Human Dark Side   vs be Aksioo Gaming Group

Human Dark side find themselves plunged into a second game this week after beating there Russian rivals CBH in a catch up game on Tuesday. This win puts them in poll position at the top and tonight they will be looking to extend there winning streak. With the map being train a very tactical map the question has to be asked have Human Dark Side had enough time to practice with only a two day break between matches? The tactical side of this map could really make or break Human dark side.

After narrowly missing out a good start to there season last week after losing 16-13 to coldrush, Aksioo Gaming Group will be looking to set the record straight, the task will be difficult though, even with a game in hand I feel that if they lose tonight they might be playing for second place. With this added pressure and knowing they are playing the top team in there division the outlook, looks bleak. The map may work in there favour though, a well drilled, disciplined performance is needed.

Prediction:  ru Human Dark Side <16-05> be Aksioo Gaming Group

ru C B H   vs uk Request For Comment

CBH may need to lift their heads after a midweek defeat to local rivals HDS on a postponed contra match but should take heart they are no more than three points adrift at this this very early stage of the season. They have looked good value in their previous match and I would certainly expect them to hammer home plenty of rounds in this tie - whether they get enough to win of course is a different matter.

There are not exactly many easy opponents in the Championship tier and Request For Comment are not amongst them. Their loss to devoted last week came as much as a shock to me as to everyone else - no dis respect to devoted but RFC were the favourites there and the turn around was quite dramatic. They do boast more than enough firepower in their armoury to bag three points in this tie - but again it wont be easy. A lot will depend on the team selection after the knife round as a good CT half fromeither side could lead to a one sided affair overall. With that in mind you could quite easily reverse the predicted score with as much chance of accuracy. A good game in prospect.

ie Anomaly   vs pt syKotic Gaming

Anomaly have come into there own over the past few months pushing some of the bigger names all the way in games. With a draw last week they are in the bottom half of the table this position doesn’t mean much especially when they have a game in hand. Tonight will not be a routine game for anomaly they will have to produce some of the top form we have come accustom to over the past few months to win this game. A win here could set the ball rolling for a anomaly winning streak in Championship D.

Portuguese powerhouse Sykotic are on the same points as anomaly and must be ready to pounce on any mistakes made by there opponent. A solid game as ct is always required on train and sykotic will need the awping skills of trolls to be top notch tonight if they wish to lock down the bombsites. With sykotic you always know you will have a tough game and tonight should be no different.

pt Core Gaming   vs uk ctx.css

Core gaming haven’t appeared yet, with 2 defaults next to there name and lying bottom of the table I don’t hold out must hope for them achieving top spot even thought it is still possible. As I have no other information on this team as they haven’t played yet I can only presume that there either very busy or they just don’t like playing CSS. So we wait with baited breath will they or won’t they turn up??

Last week saw ctx have a thrilling encounter with sykotic gaming a 15-15 out come the honours were shared. This left ctx top of there division if they want to keep top of the bunch they must win tonight. They will be favourites entering this match but this shouldn’t go to there head surprises have happened and I’m sure they will not want to be on the receiving end of one.

sx Alba Gu Bra   vs be < . L e v i t a t i o n . >

Much like Core before them AlbaGuBra have struggled to get on the server at all in their two opening matches. I'm willing their through sheer force of mind to get themselves sorted tonight though as it would seem a shame to waste all that national pride an fervour that's always on display from these guys. What will happen if they do show up though? Well their opponents ran Anomaly to the wire in a 15-15 last time out, in my first championship preview I rated AlbaGuBra on a similar skill level to the Irish guys - so  can only assume that this could be a close run thing as well. Thats assuming they turn out (please do!)

Levitation (now renamed to OUN?) needed a few pokes in the ribs with the admin stick  to get them to come and play and were treated to a first class display when they took on anomaly last week in the match mentioned above that ended in a draw. Based on that fixture the Belgians would seem to have the qualities to progress into a play off place (top four) in this division and bulding on the backof a very hard fought single point return from week two they will be pushing for all three points here either by a stright win or by a possible default.

uk Overtime.Source   vs uk mySki

Overtime are one of the few 1.6 teams that entered into the championship, there might in the 1.6 uk scene is unquestionable often recognised as being in the top 3 uk 1.6 teams. That means nothing thought as this is CSS and with them yet to play due to receiving a default in the first week and then wildcarding last week the door is wide open for them to succeed or fail. Personally I think they will succeed as they have done in 1.6, especially on train where there 5 years tactical knowledge of the map might be the deciding factor.

With wins over infusedgaming, xcite and fiveflow in the Intel core due two challenge who would write Myski off. Myski are on the same points as overtime and they will defiantly not underestimate the 1.6 team. If this game turns into a game of personal battles instead of a game of tactical dominance, myski superior experience with CSS will just edge them favourites to win. There big name players such as Nazer who’s dominance in there infused gaming clash was evident with him picking up several awards will need to be on top form.
