Last week Razer caused mass hysteria when they released a statement regarding PC Gaming and the future it has, titled PC Gaming Is Not Dead.

The company have been deeply involved with PC Gaming for many years now and with much of the PC community showing signs of defeat in the battle against their console counterparts they were keen to stress that it wasn't the case. Upon signing up to the newly created website pcgamingisnotdead.com users were greeted with the following message:

You are now one step closer to joining us against the tyranny of closed networks and sub-par console graphics. It is time to return to the original gaming platform.

Further details were divulged on the same day in the Wall Street Journal, with a huge advert dedicated to the marketing campaign. It read:

We have all heard the rhetoric about the demise of PC gaming - the stories that console gaming will take over all gaming and that PC gamers will be left with shoddy ports of console titles.

The rumors of our untimely demise have been greatly exaggerated. We are more than 300 million PC gamers worldwide and the legion is growing every day. Today there are more PC gamers than all console gamers combined and we have been silent in the face of the closed gaming systems that have been propagated.

We, the PC gamers, have been here since the beginning and have seen the industry grow to surpass movies and music, and we look forward to an open world where console and PC gamers will stand side-by-side as gamers in arms.

We are here to tell you, that on the 26th August, we will seek to end the silence and bring a new age of openness and innovation to all gaming. Together we shall remind you - that PC gaming is NOT dead.

As the clock counted down from 10 to 0 thousands of PC Gaming enthusiasts tuned in to see exactly what Razer had planned, and they weren't disappointed. The Blade is a product Razer are calling the "first true gaming laptop", and will be the first time the company have ventured past the world of PC peripherals and onto actual systems.
