theSGL European CSS Invite League IV in association with Tournament.com : Week Two - Invite East + more
@ General coverage channel

After the expected slow start to the season (seems they always are - just one of those things we are used to by now) I am pleased to report a schedule tonight that includes not only tonight's matches but also some of those pending from last week brining us closer to where we need to be with a full compliment of results by the end of the evening.

Brace yourself all who enter the wide open spaces and twisty narrow tunnels that comprise de_contra. Not a map that I nor my 1.6 brethren are overly familiar with but one which the CSS community has embraced as one of it's key maps. There should be no shortage of action this evening as we see matches decided not only on contra but also on one of my all time favourites - de_cpl_mill as the catch up games are... well... caught up on, from last week.

With further backing of this event from SteelSeries and Dustworld and with theSGL's unique sgl SkillTracker stats system ready to confirm exactly who the top players at European level are with daily updated stats for each player over the course of this event. Add to this the exclusive sgl Pro Panel of "household names" assembled together to give their thoughts on the event as it unfolds.

sgl Uzi fills up yet another page with previews for the evenings CSS jiggery pokery in the www.tournament.com sponsored event.

no Deathrow vs fi Team Logitech.fi CSS
Following the demise of the Catch Gamer organisation the players from the CSS team believed they still had something to offer as a team, adding the 1.6 team member no knoxV to their ranks and the former eolithic player brought his experience to bear and established himself as the leader. Adding se hawkeye66 and gay imp0ssible to squad to give them a squad and that all important sixth man that everyone needs at some point Deathrow are here to show that they have what it takes to compete at this level despite the shortcomings of their previous organisation.

Last season here at theSGL Logitech started their campaign with a win over uk Auxilia on mill before continuing on to the title after a thrilling draw with Hungarian heavyweight crew : hu ancients on cpl_strike in the last match of the season. The defending champions have of course performed open heart surgery on their roster since those heady days. Dsltr left the side and though he still appears on the roster (so techincally eligible for this match) odiouz was said to have retired. In came Late and albbis (though the former player appears on the roster as Migy and I simply do not know if this is the same player or another replacement). However the musical chairs ended this is a strong roster capable of winning here tonight.

This match was held over from last week and will be played on de_cpl_mill.

Prediction: Deathrow <06-16> Team Logitech.fi CSS

fi Team Temptation vs fi Insignia Cadre
Team Temptation left uk Team Ebuyer high and dry last week with no one to play and as such have neither stats for me to refer to nor a great deal else for me to draw from over and above last weeks prelude to a non event. Make no mistake however - these dudes are here to play, and here to win. Whether or not they can take advantage of what they may see as a shaky start from Cadre remains to be seen however, whatever the result you won't be able to fault Team Temptation for effort.

In what was truly a stunning match to watch last week Cadred fell to fi TeK-9 Networks LTD. by the odd round in thirty and a 16:14 scoreline. One player who could well feel really lucky to be on the losing team however was fi aNGeldustt who turned in a man of the match performance in which he very nearly won the game for his team by sheer force of will. Against any other team on any other night it could and probably would have been a different story and he for one will be seeking revenge in another Finland derby match. Even if not for the prize money, if not for the chance of winning the event - Cadre will want to win this for national pride.

Prediction: Team Temptation <10-16> Insignia Cadre

uk Four-Kings vs uk infusedGAMING
The last time I saw these guys in action they were securing the Intel Challenge first place prize with a win over r3. This was shortly after their move form Reason to their current home at uk Four-Kings. Instant CGS qualification in the first campaign followed soon after to secure their place at the UK finals. There would be few who could disagree (not matter how much they may want to ) that Four Kings are the pre eminent UK CSS squad and as such anything other than a win for them here tonight will be something of a shock result. Expect to see the guys there or thereabouts when the £5,000 is handed over at the end of the season.

This match will be available to view live via video stream with full commentary. Brought to you for QuadV.com by the dulcet tones of Jay Atkins follow this tie round by round, shot by shot, live and exclusive : only on QuadV.com , make sure you're watching as the battle of Britain unfolds.

uk infusedGAMING are a solid team who have the support of one of the larger and more organized set ups in the UK. to have any hope of pulling of what could only be regarded as a giant killing in this tie they're going to have to be resolute in their play and simply not make a single mistake. If they were to win the match it's unlikely that they would run away with it and win by a large margin so assuming the scoreline will be tight - every round counts. It is however my understanding that Infused are competing in events over the summer as a mix team of sorts after the addition and subsequent removal of Jamor and Guvnor. What state this leaves the team in remains to be seen, all thats for sure here is that this is going to be an uphill struggle tonight and there will be no room for slip ups.

This match was held over from last week and will be played on de_cpl_mill.
Prediction: Four Kings <16-10> infusedGAMING

se adastra vs uk Team Ebuyer
As one of the teams tipped to show strongly in the event as a whole, se adastra set about their opening tie in savage fashion as they romped through eu Junk52 Theatre by a clear eleven rounds in the 16:05 victory. Whether the Junk52 team had an off night and this allowed the adastra players to amass relatively high SQ levels (SkillTracker) I couldn't say for sure, It's equally likely that they simply kicked some huge quantities of ass in their opening tie. If they can do the same again then that will be a maximum six points in the bag, though they might find the going a bit harder tonight against Ebuyer.

Still waiting to join a server and get stuck in to their first set of opponents Ebuyer are ready to take on their Swedish adversaries. I'm sure they realise this is going to be a tough match and they are going to have to be on their toes if they are to solicit a win here tonight. As documented in last weeks preview for the match vs fi Team Temptation (who wild carded their opening fixture) Ebuyer have not been as active as they might with several of their members playing on behalf of Polarity in the CGS qualifiers. Will they come back refreshed and ready to rock and roll or will they return and put in a disjointed performance. Find out tonight at 8pm.

Prediction: adastra <16:10> Team Ebuyer

fi Team Logitech.fi CSS vs uk infusedGAMING
No, you're not seeing double, these two teams are back from their matches earlier in the evening to play last weeks missed match on de_cpl_mill. By this time either or both teams may have secured their opening points and be looking forward to taking a full six point haul from the night's fixtures. Equally possible they may have both met with defeat and be looking to give themselves a fighting chance at this early stage of the season by vanquishing their opponents in this second bite at the cherry.

With the teams playing back to back matches the outcome of the prior match can easily affect the end result of this tie. Either team bouyed by success earlier will come into the match with a spring in their step and an almost palpable "snap" to their aim and play. Conversely, a team weary from defeat and a vent channel with sombre tones may find it hard to pick up the pace for this second tie. Given that Infused may have the harder task against Four Kings I'm going to go for a Logitech win, but it is all up in the air and all to play for.

Prediction: Team Logitech.fi CSS <16:10> infusedGAMING
