CGS: European Qualifier Final
@ The CGS channel

Upper Bracket Final (de_inferno)

Adastra
4
vs
Fnatic
10

Fnatic overcame Adastra for a spot in the CGS European Qualifer Grand final, needing only 1 map to win, and get a guaranteed place in the combine.

Lower Bracket Final (de_inferno)

Multigamer
7
vs
Adastra
10

Adastra immediately bounced back from their loss, with a strong show of moral, defeating Multigamer, who in my eyes have been a really underrated team this entire tournament, defenitely one to watch out for in the later qualifiers.

Multigamer (3rd place)

Drozo
snipealot
Chobo
Gem
Zeek
Infected

I had a quick chat with MG^Zeek:

Hi MG^Zeek, are you happy with your performance in this tournament?

We came into this qualifiaction with a top3 expectation, so I got to say we did our job

What was the hardest match of the tournament for you

The first one vs wizards. After playing terror on nuke the score was 2-7. We knew that we had done this before (ec vs 4kings) and really boosted each other up. It ended in a thrilling overtime which we won.

What are you doing to try and promote yourself to the general managers?

We haven't done much actually. Just playing like we use to and keeping it on a professional level. We're really looking forward to the combine and we'll do our very best to impress the GM's there.

Good luck in the rest of CGS, any shoutouts?

Thank you. Gg to all teams (that showed up :/) www.altibox.no

Grand Final (de_dust2)

Adastra
0
vs
Fnatic
0

De_dust2 has never been fnatic's strongest map, (they lost to mTw at I30 to put them in the lower bracket, and one of their closest wins at lan79 was on this map, 16-14 against 4kings.css)

Adastra fair a bit better on this map, with a generally stronger performance. However Adastra need 2 maps, coming from the lower bracket final. This match is wide open in my opinion, I'm tipping it slightly to fnatic due to being at lan, needing 1 map, and displaying amazing recent form. Good luck to both teams.

Teams lineup:

Blaze
proph
darky
AirRaid
xertion

nordQvist
Fifflaren
olander
majk
hauNted

I caught up briefly with fnatic/Darky:

Congratulations on your win, how did you feel the match went, was it closer than the 10-4 scoreline suggested?

We expected adastra to pick the CT side first, as they had a higher random seed. This was okay for us, we just tried to take as many rounds on T as we could. Which turned out pretty good for us, with 6 rounds on terror. On CT we were confident from our first half and kept the momentum going.

You now meet adastra in the final, needing only 1 map to be the first team to qualify for the combine, how confident are you on the map (de_dust2).

Not confident at all, it's definitely our worst map. We have been working on it for the last weeks though as we knew it was quite a common map for CGS finals. We'll have to see how it turns out, could go either way in my opinion.

Did playing the entire match at lan (the players are currently boot camping at blaze's house, help the win.

I'm not sure, it could have as the communication is easier that way. But as we haven't been here for a long time our aim etc was still a bit off. But it's definitely good for our teamspirit, Blaze's plasma TV is great for tactics!

Cadred.org wishes good luck to both teams, and we'll be here to bring you the final result, and interviews straight after the final
