A new Multi-Gaming Organisation has launched, with squads for Counter-Strike Source, Quake4 and Warsow.

Edge of Gaming launched today, announcing their players and their management team. Billy 'genuine' Smith, Edge Human Resources, had this to say:

The team asperity.gg have recently proven themselves as a contender in the UK counter strike source scene and we feel with the personalities, skill and following of the team, we have a good foundation of which to market upon. We are sure such a team can only improve in a more professional environment and are excited by the prospect of playing an active part.

The Counter-Strike Source team is the old asperity.gg team.

Goodeh spoke to Jonte, team leader, about this move:

Hello edge`jonte, can you introduce yourself and your team to the readers?

Hello. I'm jonte, 23, and I'm clan leader of asperity.gg. The other members are silly, desu, soniq, goose and ewaf (who recently won the SJ awp cup). after Intel Core 2 EC, in which we came third, we were asked if we would like to represent the new EDGE organisation as their source team, and so here we are!

Can you tell us a little bit about the new organisation, who's running it, and what teams they'll have?

The organisation is run by well-respected members of the community. Genuine is ex-riZe, rick is from cZar, and leon from THE! and cZar. Currently there is a Q4 dueler, Geo who won the Q4 Opencup in 2006 and snapcase, a warsow dualer (formerly the riZe PK dueler)

What is the organisation offering you in supporting your goals?

Even as a small clan, Asperity were (relatively) heavily sponsored for servers, websites and LAN attendance. Because of that, the sponsorships, whilst important came second - what we ideally wanted was first-class management. I think you can agree the management team has an impressive background, and we feel this level of organisation will really help us become a stronger team overall.

You recently came third in the Intel Core 2 Challenge cup, congratulations, what will you do with the £500 prize?

Thanks. I have no idea what i'll do with it, probably buy some new headphones. I may donate £10 towards your next haircut.

What are your upcoming lan and online plans, are you interested in CGS at all? I know at least 1 of your members is under the 18 age limit, how do you plan to deal with this?

As far as LAN attendance goes, I think we'll be attending the i32 come August. We are interested in the CGS and we've seen quite a few clans drop players for it... instead of doing that we've just drafted in an alternative player who is older than 18. Obviously we can understand why clans choose to drop members when they're too young to be contracted, but since only one of us was too young, it hasn't really affected us. The new player is a 1.6 player called desu, who will be filling in for soniQ. he used to play for cl_utch in 1.6, attended CPL world tour with LicK and was held in high reguard during his UT2004 stint, coming 1st at a few LANs he's moved over to source, and has come to us from filling in at coldRush.

Where do you see yourself in 6 months, competing with the best?

Obviously, we hope so. If you were to ask me 6 months ago I wouldn't have said we would come 3rd in a major competition., but we did. With the CGS coming and the crazy roster changes/players moving around, it's all a bit unsettled. But anything can happen - we're motivated, practice a lot and we get on with each other well. Personally I think that is a strong combination for success

Corin spoke to Geo, Edge’s new Quake4 Player

Hi Geo, first off could you please introduce yourself for me?

Hello, my name is Geo Molenaar. I’m 18 years old and still on school. And I’ve been playing online games for 2 years.

When did you start playing Quake4? Do you have any major achievements under your belt to date?

I started playing Quake 4 1.5 year ago, when it just got released. I’ve been playing a lot national and some online cups but didn’t have the sponsors to travel. I’ve competed in some national LANs where I placed 1st and 2nd, and I won an OpenCup and some other online leagues, but I don’t have any major achievements yet. I do have high hopes for the future, however.

And what made you decide to move to Edge organisation?

I’ve been working with Genuine before in another organisation, I know what he does and can do. The other guys seemed really nice and professional so I’m going to try to build up something with these guys. Currently I’m still inactive, but after this summer I’m planning for a comeback.

Ok, thanks for talking to me Geo, any final comments?
