Reason Gaming CSS Team become 4K.css

As I'm sure most of you are aware, the 4King's lineup that was formally CSA were removed due to lack of commitment by some members. The official statement from 4kings said that were going to announce their new CSS team within the coming days, and it is to not much surprise that the UK organisation have taken the #1 CSS UK clan under their wing.

I caught up with ritch to catch a few words about their move to 4kings.

Hey ritch, first of all congratulations on becoming the 4K's team, how are you and your team feeling about the move?
We feel awesome, well at least I know I do :D - Its a big step and well.. finally got where I want to be in CS:S - i'm also pretty sure it'll work out just fine.

Well I can honestly say Im jelous! Did they approach you after the last 4King's team was removed or did you approach them after hearing the news?
They approached us a few days ago about it.. we had a long chat spent a few days thinking about it and here we are.

Sounds cool. So what are the specifcations of the 4kings deal and do you have to sign contracts?
We get a lot of support is all I know really.. I wasn't really the one that sorted the complicated stuff, and as far as I know, contracts will be coming at some point in the near future.

Ah I see, I'm sure you know the history and pressure that comes with playing under the 4Kings tag. Do you feel pressured to perform, more than when you were in Reason and do you think the lineup can rise to the challenge?
I don't feel anymore pressure, if anything it's given me a lot more motivation to continue playing through the summer and as everyone knows we're capable of winning when we practice. This line-up can rise to any challenge given to us.

After watching you at lan79, I can see why you enjoy playing so much! Where do you see yourself, CSS wise, in a years time?
Providing CS:S stays big, I can see us still at the top flying the UK's flag high - it's all going to be down to CGS though really.

Definitely, what are your views on CGS, do you think it will really change gaming from what it is now?
If its what its cracked up to be.. then yes, definatly Source is going to grow and its a hugeeeee change in the way games are going to be played and watched.

Couldn't agree more. What are your online and LAN plans? I take it you will be taking up the invite to the Experience lan with 4K support?
Not sure what our plans are exactly apart from to just play, play and play - The Experience LAN we will be attending too, can't wait for that!

Hopefully cu at LAN then! As I'm sure your aware, there has been ALOT of team changing in the euro CSS scene. Excluding yourself, who do you think are the top 3 euro teams?
I don't believe in this 'Top EU teams' thing anymore. It all depends how you play on the day, one simple small factor could change the whole games. I think the top teams are obviously the teams that pull of results, but the ones who have stuck through everything.. H2k deserve a mention as they are reletivly inactive but still.. they'll get the results they want when needed. Obviously there is ourselves and apart from shift we've stuck through everything and also fnatic, one hell of a great team.

Definitely. Finally, who do you think would win in a battle between Batman and Jesus? People NEED to know!
Batman, because I believe Goodeh is Jesus and he can't even talk properly.o>

Hi corin!

Before the old CSA team were removed from the Four Kings organisation, did you already know who you wanted to replace them with?

Well we had some idea of the team’s we would like to have in our organisation. I looked at the pros and cons of each team and chose the one I thought had the most potential and a solid line up.

I can’t help but wonder who your second choice would have been? Speculation surrounding these events suggested that you would be choosing Reason, r3 or ONESIX, what pushed your decision in Reason's favour

Well we wanted a all UK line up, and I know what people are saying ‘oh Intel are pushing for all UK’ well that is not completely true, yes Intel do want us to push the UK scene but also it was a decision we made as a team to go back to our roots and give the UK and top home grown organisation that they can be proud of a root for. That aside the reason we went for this team is because they have a strong solid line up with a lot of skill and have proven they can team some of the best on LAN which is what we are looking for.

Obviously the squad will play the final of the Intel® Core™ 2 Extreme Challenge as Reason, once that competition is over what plans do you have in terms of what competitions they will be entering, which LANs they will attend?

Well online currently they have the Qpad Cup finals v Logitech and they are also through to the play off of the EuroCup, there is also the SGL4 which I’m sure we will be entering as the SGL always run and good league with a decent prize. Offline they will be attending all the bigger events such as The Experience in Denmark.
