Invited teams

Today the admins running the tournament have published the 16 clans which will advance directly to the play-offs. The teams have been selected by looking at previous CODQCUP performances and results from the ongoing EuroCup XV. Our own Call of Duty 2 squad got invited with another Finnish team Logitech.fi. Also the number one team in Europe Serious Gaming are after their third CODQCUP first spot.

General info

The well-known online tournament CODQCUP, which is hosted by callofduty.se, has returned with the 5th edition and with changes to the tournament structure. The sign up closes on Wednesday 23rd at 15.00 CET and the Group Stage will begin on 24th of May. First there will be once again room for 64 or even 128 clans if enough clans sign up and only 16 clans will advance the playoffs since the other 16 clans will be directly invited from the signed up clans by the tournament admins. The admins see that its better this way since the Group Stage doesn't bring enough challenge to the top teams. The 64 teams will first battle it out in a groupstage where we have 16 groups with 4 teams in each. From this groupstage teams placing number 1 and 2 will make it into a Single Elimination round. SE will consist of one game, so if you would like to make it into the playoffs you will have to win 1 SE match. Also mp_vallente, the famous custom map, has been removed from the cup and replaced with mp_trainstation, complete maplist below:

The tournament will be played using smoke simply because big lans such as the WSVG, the eXperience, Dataparty and Wonderbase are using it too and the admins want to make sure that the attending teams are able to practise enough. PAM used in the tournament can be downloaded by pressing here. Also the match server needs to be streaming to Game-Violations Anti-Cheat site.

The May edition will be sponsored by Qpad, Sennheiser, Noctua, Coolink and X3M servers. TGBF will be responsible for making broadcast of the tournament.
