ESWC: SK Gaming Win
@ ESWC 2011 channel

As was expected SK Gaming have won the ESWC Counter-Strike competition after beating Na'Vi in the final 2-0.

What perhaps wasn't expected was the exciting manner in which they took the first map, which was a fantastic spectacle and worthy of any Counter-Strike final.

You see, if the outcome was expected the way N?a'Vi started was anything but. Seemingly rejuvenated after defeating AGAiN, they wasted no time in building up what seemed and unassailable lead on de_inferno. 12-3 at half time and SK Gaming were reeling.

Still, it was again a matter of who had the most character and right now SK Gaming are chock full of it. They might get themselves into these situations but they sure as hell know how to dig themselves out of them as well.

They took eight rounds straight after the break before Na'Vi got one, and even though the Ukrainians took it to 15-11 their Swedish counterparts still didn't give up and continued to dig deep, taking the match to an overtime. Not just one either but two of them.

The fact that SK Gaming broke the deadlock and their opponents first in what was a stalemate, winning four rounds in the third and final overtime to take the first map 22-19, was clearly a sickener for Na'Vi. They have already had enough things go against them lately and it was clear that the gloom resumed in the secondf map.

de_dust2 passed by in a blur as the Swedes comprehensively demolished their opponents. It was 12-3 at half time and the second half shut out was completed for an impressive 16-3 scoreline. Na'Vi didn't seem to care that much... After such a draining game and indeed tournament it looked as if they were just glad it was over.

The win cements SK Gaming's position as the kings of 1.6 and the win represents the first ESWC title in their history.
