Chief organiser

4nkor outlined the lan's ins and outs.
As some people might have read and know for some time now, we have been trying to organize a LAN event for our beloved game of Day of Defeat 1.3. We have tried to create a LAN that would really attract teams to attend, and how to do that better than with money prizes. Of course there will also be sponsors for our little event, which are to be announced on a later time. In this post we shall try and give you all the information you need to not only attend the LAN, but also where to seek for the cheapest hostels and hotels.
- The LAN will be held at the 19th and 20th of May and start at noon. We advice the teams to make sure that they arrive in Helsinki a day before the LAN starts so they can settle themselves in the hostel or hotel of their choosing.
- The LAN will take place at Level 7 Café.
- In order to attend the LAN a fee has to be paid, which is 25euro per player. The entrance fee for Level 7 is 15euro (to pay at the door) and is not included in the 25euro the players have to pay. The player price is to make sure we can generate a decent prize purse. The player fee’s have to be paid 2 weeks in advance of the LAN. The final day for payment will be the 5th of May.
- A minimum of 8 teams is required in order to make this LAN happen (more is always better of course).
- The prize purse will count a minimum of 1200euro. The teams to place the first three spots will also receive hardware prizes.
- It will be a double elimination tournament.
- To signup mail your team information (player nicks + names, team, website, contact person + mail ) to 4nkor at Jeroen1410@gmail.com . You will receive the bank account information by mail when your teams signs up.
