Team Hungary | Res1st interview
@ Blog channel channel

bazsowicz: For the start here comes a warm-up question: if your clan could get a house of great value but you have to share it with an another team, which team would you select and why? And where would be the house located: near the sea or next to a tavern full of blondes with big silicon tits serving you?

Res1st: I'd choose the coast because I don't like artificial things, the perspective of the sea and nice girls playing volleyball are more close to me. For flat-mates I'd choose fnatic.css because we have a good relationship with them, we've played close matches and I'm sure that we could learn much from them. And on the other hand they are a nice team with nice players.

bazsowicz: After the warm-up round please introduce yourself to the readers!

Res1st: My name is Péter Gáspár, I'm 16 years old, studying at the Hunfaly secondary school, I started playing with CSS last year, before CSS I played CoD in FoP.cod and we've reached good results with them. Before team OBi my previous one was hA, where I started my carrier as a spare player, learned how to play the game, what to do in each different situation and how to solve them. My first match with a real stake was an on-line cup final where I showed good performance to myself and to my mates, after that match I found myself in the real roster. But hA broke up some months later and I went to fooze where I got fourth place at D-LAN 4. After fooze I won the first PGCC LAN with a mix team and thanks to our good performance KODIAK asked dhizzy and me if we'd like to play for the renewed ancients. Unfortunately this didn't work out as we expected it was just a one day dream for us, but later we found our new home at OBi.

bazsowicz: How can you summarize the Hungarian team efficiency at ClanBase NationsCup season X?

Res1st: It depends on what we do the comparison against. For example if we compare the previous season with this one we've reached good results, but if we see the national teams attainments our team performed under expectations in this 10th season. I think everybody felt that we could've done better... The whole team played with this attitude against the Swedish team, I knew that we had a real chance to reach the first place, but I don't want to whine about this, it's the past. If I'll get the opportunity again next year to play with the national team I will surely give 110% to reach the first place.

bazsowicz: Basically, you and dhizzy are the backbone of the team, my question relates to that: Did you have any difficulties through the preparation time or in the matches because your age? Did you feel that the pressure is too much on you?

Res1st: I didn't feel to much pressure on me, but to be honest I shouldn't say that the season was easy for us. Sometimes I had to defend areas on various maps where I didn't feel myself comfortable because in my own team I'm accustomed more to other positions on them. That was very troublesome for me. I felt this national team was a late night mix that's a bit more organized then usually, but I know everybody has a private life and a private team to care with so I'm not dissapointed because of the lack of preparations.

bazsowicz: There were whisperings about that you are too young for playing in the national team, and maybe you don't have the corresponding knowledge beacuse of it. What is your opinion about this?

Res1st: This is an interesting question, everyone has a different and subjective opinion about this. I think the only answer is dedication and practice, without these we'd be just two avarege players in the Hungarian scene. To play in the national team you need connections like in real life apart from talent and skill, but don't forget the most important thing: performance under pressure on important matches. For this you need to have the ability to concentrate well, know all the aspects of the game, you have to know in every minute of the game what is happening on the other side of the map. You have to know what'll possibly happen next and what are the probable outcomes, and what you should do in each situation. Over all this, only the personal skills count and can modify the outcome of a match. We attracted the attention with our style and knowledge at the first PGCC finals where we played prominently. I got many negative critics after some of my matches, and if an influential player or person criticised me I always gave a thought about his words and tried to learn from their sugggestions. The biggest critic is myself, I'm a perfectionist and sometimes I feel personal defeat even if we win a match, because some of the major mistakes I've done on it.

bazsowicz: You reached the playoffs with a perfect balance, you beat the most probable finalist the Finnish team with an awesome result, the Hungarian team hit the highest target in their history. Is this third place can be counted as the result of submissive practice or the experienced players like KODIAK and Flavius?

Res1st: This team were mixed with excellent ingredients: youthful verve, elderly composure and experience too. The corps were very complex, Raul, dhizzy and me gave the dynamics to the team, sometimes I had to lead the team, for example against Germany on train and against Russia on cpl_mill. It would've been impossible to reach this level without the experience of Flavius, the poise gamestyleof Stawros, dhizzy add his "inherited" Swedish blood, KODIAK's saviour shots, kuLi's brilliant AWP shoots and without my entry frags.

bazsowicz: In the semi finals Hungary had to face with the Swedish team, on that match you lost the regular confidence and the cost were two mislaid maps. What happened on that match with the team?

Res1st: Our defence on inferno was disastrous, they came into the bombsites when they wanted and how they wanted. We were somewhat unlucky too but our dust2 was just plain bad. The train was pretty good, even though the first side started really hard for us, but at the end the games decider was our CT side on inferno. To be honest I would've changed kuLi to Stawros before the map because his FPS problems on his PC. After the match the team got many critics, our beloved fans suddenly started to hate us... But I would like to thank everybody for their support.

bazsowicz: Flegby, the team captain was in spotlight in many times because of the Hungarian team, but now you have the chance to share your opinions about him!

Res1st: I'm very happy that he selected me in the team, he did his best in the season. He did everything for us and always dangled the whole team when it was needed. I would like to see him as the team captain in the next season too.

bazsowicz: Were you surprised at the performance of England and Germany?

Res1st: The early leave of England didn't surprise me because I reckoned them as a weaker team. Germany is a harder question, I predicted them to the top3, but I'm very happy that we stepped over them in the consolation final. I was susprised how the Danish team got into the finals, when we played practice matches with them they didn't leave a big impression in me. I hope some of you remember h0lm's prediction about NationsCup, he said that the Hungarian team will get the second place at the group stages after Finland and they will be knocked out in the playoffs first round.

bazsowicz: What's your future plans about the foreign lans, for example are you going to attend on lan79 with OBi?

Res1st: This is a very good question, we've talked much about this, but I'm afraid we have to pass over the upcoming lans. We haven't got a strong background yet, so its very hard to finance our trips and bring our PCs to the event. There are sponsors and supporters behind the team but in Hungary these kind of things works in a different way than abroad. If the event organisers provides support towards teams like us, it would be easier to participate on LANs abroad. The following months don't give us good future prospect about that.

bazsowicz: Thank you very much for your in-depth answers, have a good day, any regards?

Res1st: I would like to give my thanks for the amazing ClanBase season to the whole team, the sponsorship to RedTower, OBiNet, PGCC and MasterPC. And don't forget to check our brand new homepage at source.obinet.hu!
