WCG: Final Standings
@ General coverage channel

Just days after joining ESC Gaming the Polish 1.6 team have brought the first trophy to the organisation, and made history in the process.

When it was revealed that the mixed Nordic side formerly representing ESC Gaming would be parting ways the organisation suffered a major blow, just as the team were looking dangerous. It didn't take long for the organisation to find a replacement for their departed team though and their victory at the WCG this weekend just goes to show that every cloud has a silver lining, or a golden one in this case. Whoever convinced the Poles to sign with ESC deserves a promotion as the team have secured the organisation their first major event win less than a week after joining, defeating SK Gaming in three maps to walk away as WCG champions for the third time in their careers.

Many questioned the teams ability to perform at the top level following the departure of the talismanic LUq more than a year ago but the win in Korea makes it a record breaking three WCG titles for the vast majority of the Polish side - with pasha picking up his first this weekend. It marks the end of another hugely successful year for the team and after numerous event wins and some outstanding performances it's fair to say that they are the new "Golden Five", a tag not used to describe the team since changes were made to the lineup. Although this weekends tournament wasn't the most competitive of the year ESC Gaming still had to overcome a hungry SK Gaming, a Swedish team eager to end the year on a high.

The match was as close as they come but in the end it was another epic comeback from neo and his troops and more disappointment for the Swedes, not least of all RobbaN who now holds three WCG Silver Medals, a record in itself. The win means that ESC Gaming walk home with $25,000, whilst SK pick up the second place cheque of just $6,000.

Here are the final standings:

ESC Gaming - $25,000 + gold medals
SK Gaming - $6,000 + silver medals
Moscow Five - $3,000 + bronze medals
